Impressed: good build quality and function.
About half the price of the equivalent Zeiss optics Sony lens, which I have not used. Reviews indicate not a huge amount between them. Anti shake works well, and both zoom and focus rings have a quality feel. A little heavy, but comes with the sturdiness. Used with my trusty a6500

Still my go to travel lens
This is a fantastic lens after a year and a half it is still my go-to travel lens. Compared to another more expensive lens that has an f2.8 aperture this is light haha. The lens is versatile and can be used as a wide b-roll lens. If you want a good reasonably priced zoom lens to fit your aspc camera this is a good option.

Great all rounder lens
The TAMRON 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD for Sony E-mount APS-C is a versatile zoom lens with a constant f/2.8 aperture, ideal for a range of photography from landscapes to portraits. Its built-in Vibration Compensation (VC) offers effective stabilization for low-light and handheld shooting. The lens delivers sharp image quality, especially in the center, with fast, quiet autofocus thanks to its RXD motor. The 17-70mm focal range (25.5-105mm equivalent) provides flexibility for both wide-angle and telephoto shots. However, it features a mostly plastic build, and some corner softness is noticeable at f/2.8. It lacks true macro capability and may exhibit focus breathing, which could be a drawback for videographers. While compact and lightweight for the focal length and apature of you want a travel lens it may be a bit bulky making your apsc camera front heavy, the included lens hood is a minor downside as I have to always check it’s attached as it easily comes off when taking camera in and out of bag or sometimes when changing focal length. Overall, this lens is an excellent choice for those seeking a reliable, all-in-one option for APS-C cameras.

Sharp, versatile lens. Front heavy on a Sony A6400.
I have been using this lens with my Sony A6400 for almost 2 years and it has been amazing. Excellent sharpness from 17-50mm with a slight sharpness reduction nearer the 70mm end. Minimal distortion and I haven't needed lens corrections most of the time. Autofocus is silent and very fast, as if it were a Sony lens. Vibration Control works very well for stills allowing shutter speeds as low as 1/10s (with stable hands). However for video it is not as effective. Zoom range is very versatile and I feel this lens helped me understand my preferred focal lengths and style. It can do just about anything you throw at it. Build quality is similar to other Tamron lenses and the focus and zoom rings feel smooth and controlled. Great value for money especially compared to the Sony (much more expensive) and Sigma (20mm less reach + no VC) equivalents. I would say the main selling point of this lens for me is the versatility. At an equivalent 25.5-105mm, it can be used for most types of photography. I have used it for: landscape, automotive, event, portrait, product, astro and more. The f2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range is very helpful. My biggest issue with this lens is the weight and size relative to the small Sony A6400 body. It is quite uncomfortable to hold in one hand for long periods of time. If you were to use a capture clip system or mainly use tripods I’m sure this would not be as much of an issue.

Nice lense, especially for travel where you can only take one lense
Just returned from Scotland,10 day backpacking wildcamping along the west highland way. The quality of shots is amazing. very recommended. Pros: lightweight being about 500g, and relatively compact for the zoom. Very Good picture and video quality. check on youtube my video from the trip Ed Rudans West Highland Way. Very good build quality, as I dropped the camera at the end of my trip but everything still works just fine. Cons: Vibration Reduction on the lense is not very prominent on videos, still have to use tripod and strap technique for good result. I had windy day and still can see vibrations while camera being on the tripod.

I've got Tamron 70-300mm F4-5.6, and im not satisfied with the image it taken, so I switch to sigma 16mm 1.4, I love the sharpness of it, and afraid to buy Tamron lens again, but I'm glad I did, for my eye its sharp as my Sigma, and it 17-70mm with constant 2.8, for me minimum 2.8 is enough, i love F1.4 but its so shallow that might slip your focus, over all Tamron 17-70mm 2.8 are the one always attached to my Camera for it versatility of Zoom, and its Aperture

• Leggerissima distorsione a 17mm, correggibile via software o direttamente in macchina.
