I bought this, another microwaveable heating pad and some self warming pads for my cat. She goes to bed at night in her outdoor cat enclosure and has a special igloo. I rotate the self warming pads every 3-4 days (so they don’t get damp, living in NW) and on cold nights I put the microwavable heating pad out there (rotate them on different nights - makes it easier). This disc like heating pad is amazing. It stays warm for many hours. The first use I kept it in my bed near my feet because they are always cold and it was heaven! Highly recommend. Make sure your cat has room to be on or off this since they get very warm and stay warm for so long. Way more peace of mind than the plug in heated bed I used for years in the winter (always worried about fire).

My guinea pigs love it. I bought two so I can rotate. So easy to warm up and I’m so impressed how long they stay warm. I would even go to say they stay warmer longer when wrapped in a blanket. I love how easy it is so clean them and that they come with a fleece sleeve. 10/10. I would recommend this for any animal and human. I love that I don’t need to worry about any electrical stuff. If you do get this for your guinea pigs, I suggest using a fleece blanket to wrap it in then use the excess to make it cozy.

I have had this about a year now and heat it up everyday for my feral cat’s outside home on cold nights. I’ve had no problems with it keeps the cat house warm well into the night. I do bury it under the hay. Since my purchase a year ago, the cover has come apart at the seems, still usable though. Great product for ferals on cold nights!

Got this just over a month ago, also thinking it was the original version, but learning it was not tonight. I have not used it every day. Always heat it in the microwave for the same amount of time. I always have the cover on bc; 1. I never read to heat it without the cover until tonight on this video page and I don't rememberit being in the instructions that came with it, and 2. It would be a pain to take that cover on and off. 3. It never got very hot to start with. I noticed that it would puff up a bit after heating recently, but it actually never got too hot to touch. If anything, it barely got hot. QThat is, until tonight when I reached in to take it out, burned my fingers, and saw the mess. I started to get light headed from the sickening, very strong, sweet chemical smelling fumes, so left it as you see in the picture, in the microwave. I came upstairs to my bedroom and closed the door as fast as I could while holding my breath. I now smell those fumes coming into my bedroom, even after shoving things under the door, and this is far away from the microwave. I don't want my cat to go down there bc I'm afraid the fumes will be toxic. Have no idea how I can clean it up and I'm sure the microwave is ruined. Of course, the return window, which is the only warrantee offered, closed one week ago. I will still contact the company bc I want to know exactly what's inside thats causing me to be dizzy after breathing it 30 minutes ago, and burned into my fingers.

This product seems to do precisely what it says it does, it is easy to heat in the microwave (follow the instructions precisely!) and its heat lasts for 8 hours. I tuck it underneath the cages my small parrots sleep in during the winter, because their room is far from the thermostat and it can get a little colder in there than I like. I do NOT put it in their cages, because parrots will chew anything and everything, probably even in their sleep. I'm sure they could get the little cap off and spill the hot gel all over themselves in under a minute. It has worked well so far. If anyone has ANY doubts, check with your vet. I can only say that I've been doing this for a short while, and I like the results so far. I took off one star for something unrelated to the quality of the product: I did not order this brand. I am absolutely certain I ordered a SnuggleSafe heat pad, and in fact I might not have ordered this one at all due to a couple of reviews that mentioned this one bursting in the microwave and burning them (the reviewers, not the pets, and the reviewers did acknowledge that they heated it for too long a time). Again, I am entirely satisfied with the quality of the product I received, but it's not the one I ordered. I feel like my intention got hijacked, and while I've heard stories of this happening, it's the first time in almost two decades of shopping on Amazon that I've experienced it. I have no idea how it happened, but I know I camped on the SnuggleSafe listing for twenty minutes reading the reviews AFTER I ordered it, because the reviews were just adorable. And memorable. When I went to the reviews for this product, they were definitely different from the ones I'd read. But whatever, this does seem to be a perfectly good product, the only reason I can't give it a full five stars is because of that weird switcheroo.

If you have a hairless goblin, get the warmup disk! Our guy loves it. It produces just enough warmth without being too hot and it hold onto heat for hours. Perfect size for keeping a large crate cozy for our sphynx.

I heated this in the microwave as per the wattage instructions and the whole insides leaked and destroyed my microwave. It’s extremely dangerous.
