Mucros Weavers Kerry Cap, Irish Hat for Men, Herringbone Wool

Wanted a "flat cap" for awhile, and finally purchased one. The Mucros Weavers Kerry Cap (Irish Hat) for Men in Green Herringbone Wool was actually better than I anticipated. Well made, fit perfectly on my XL head. Wife was originally skeptical, but she even broke down and said it looked great! I was impressed enough to buy a similar cap in Blue Herringbone. Have worn with my kilt, and informal with jeans, but certainly nice enough to wear with nicer clothes. Thanks Mucros.

Excellent cap. Well made and I've already received plenty of compliments on it.A lot of other reviews did not mention sizing. The chart made it sound like XL would be too large as I'm around 60.5 cm/just a hair short of 24 in. But I took a shot since large hats of other makes tend to be too tight for me and it was the right choice. The XL fits likes a glove and stuck firmly to my head on a gusty NYC day.

I bought a cheap but good looking Irish-style flat cap made in China. It looks good but not the best quality. It's a wool-synthetic weave. Then I found the Mucros Kerry cap. My first hat was the Army Green- love that color and lots of complements. Then I bought other Mucros Kerry caps- light grey striped, charcoal blue and dark blue. All beautiful caps. With my new obsession for these caps in full gear, I finally bought this "Light Brown" version. It's not light brown but darker with red, maroon, od green, blue and grey micro stripes. Along with the Army Green cap, this is my favorite color. I couldn't have come up with a better color scheme if I'd designed it myself- very handsome cap. Mucros quality is of course second to none and 100% Irish wool made in Killarney . I prefer the Kerry style as opposed to the Trinity style due to the brim coming forward a bit past the front of the cap. The other thing I like is there being some elastic "gathering" on the sides of the cap which helps with the fit. It also keeps the hat from stretching out and loosening over time. I highly recommend this authentic Irish cap and can't be happier with my collection. Thanks Mucros!
