It works consistently
I bought three thermometers at the same time because I was losing my mind from the Braun ear thermometers constantly breaking- either not working or more often an infuriating error message that it can't read the cap. I bought this one along with a forehead swipe one (and AGAIN a Braun ear thermometer that has since broken). This was by far the most accurate, and I know that because I was using all three at the same time. It is easy to use, it is easy for my kids to use by themselves. My son is going to college and I came back to order this one to send him away with, its the only one I trust.

BEST FOREHEAD THERMOMETER!!! Here’s proof!
Best forehead thermometer out there! Like many other reviews, I have also bought 2! I like to have a back up, having three kids it’s super easy, convenient, & non invasive. To prove it’s accuracy I took my temperature with a hospital grade thermometer I have (due to health anxiety) and then took my forehead temp and usually they’re a couple degrees or points off, due to one being an oral temperature and one being forehead, but it so happens they matched!

Works as expected
So far so good. Needs to calibrated as it is off my a degree to degree & a half compared to other thermometers in the house. Will work for now

Best non-Contact Infrared Thermometer
Vicks Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer for Forehead, Food and Bath is a vast improvement over a previous one that was inconsistent and always totally unrelible. Vicks was picked:best: by NY Times Wirecutter.

EXCELLENT - have purchased TWO
We have several physicians in the family and they all agree this style of thermometer is the most accurate. It’s easy to use and only take an are seconds for a temperature reading. We have a family member who is susceptible to fevers due to a genetic immune disorder and we’ve relied on this thermometer so much, I just bought a second one to have as a backup . Highly recommend this item.

Stopped working suddenly
I bought this when my baby got sick and had fevers. At the time this was the only thermometer in the house and it worked great for a few days with accurate readings. But around 5 days it suddenly stopped working.
