Easy to read. Lots of color pictures to follow and the video worked fine. everything looked new so im assuming it is new. I found it to be very informative. I wouldn't call myself an expert or profesional after reading this book but I am very well informed now and definitely understand the process or an engine rebuild. It has lots of money saving tips (more than enough to pay for this book for sure) and resources for quality tools and parts when needed. Personally, I would recommend it for even the most novice of mechanics.

Great book

I have never rebuilt an engine. Just started reading this book and it explains everything clear enough for me to understand what to do. Granted some background knowledge helps to understand intricate details. In my opinion, if you are novice, and only had to deal with small car repairs like changing oil, valve cover gaskets, starters, water pump, heater core, alternator and so on (which i did by simply looking up videos, reading manuals), this book will explain enough for you to get the job done. I have to look up certain terms to better understand. So if you are interested in rebuilding an engine, have the desire, patience and willing to do extra research, this book will be great for you. If you are nervous about an engine rebuild, like myself, don't be. just go for it. It is fun and will be your work. Although it might be cheaper to buy a rebuilt engine if a lot of machining needs to be done to your engine. This book shows you how to inspect components, what to look for, so you will know the extent of future expenses if you decide to proceed with a rebuilt. Like I said, if you are novice, you can at least take your engine apart and make an educated decision about what to do next.
