It works-stop complaining
Wow where to start. First off all those people that gave it 1 or 2 stars because of not mixing well, messy, packet breaks when I shake it, It's too thick, or something of that nature need to do their homework and maybe take up a sport like checkers. For people that just didn't like the taste, Vitamin profile(Iron and Folic Acid) or it bothers your stomach I get it. I think that's reasonable. The other stuff is laziness. These people probably complain they get sweaty from their workout at the Gym. Buy a Nutribullet. You can afford it the MetRx is almost 50 bucks. Water it down. It is a meal replacement why would you complain when you can make that packet last for breakfast and lunch just by adding water or whatever tastes good to you. All you need is one packet a day and a Protein powder supplement. The bottom line is that MetRx works if you use it right. I use mine to loose weight and I'm never hungry-thanks to the consistency. Yes I admit is hard to get 20oz of MetRx in you. But that's great and breaks up the Protein intake giving you a little less Aminos over a longer time-your muscles never starve. It also saves you money-this is a meal replacement. In regard to mixing get a nutri or Magic Bullet. At 90 bucks it's great. If you're buying MetRx you can afford it. I mix my shake in 5 seconds and there are no lumps. I do recommend using water and a juice you like with the vanilla flavour. The more milk you add the thicker it will be. The bottom line is THIS STUFF WORKS. I will admit not as well as the original from the 90's. I think there was a thermogenic in it-anyway they pulled it off the shelves. I heard because it was sold to another company. I don't believe that. You felt sweaty, you pooped green after the first packet-and a lot and you'd have hot flashes all day-it was uncomfortable. So something was up. All my friends had the same reaction and you got bigger and more cut than on the newer version. On the newer version I'm reviewing I lost 5lbs of fat-just fat in 7 days using this product. If you want it you gotta work for it. I don't like vegetables-but I eat them. I like Cheese Burgers and fries and crap. But I don't eat it. Use the product anyway you feel comfortable(1 shake a day or 2). Eat clean-you don't have to go overboard, and get a protein powder. I promise you- you will see results fast. Don't over feed yourself. Don't have a shake and a steak dinner-It's one or the other. If you follow these loose guidelines you will be successful. If it's just protein you need just buy a protein powder you like. If you want to change your physic use MetRx and don't sweat the small stuff.

Believe the hype! Buyer beware! (...wait...)
In many ways this is an insanely good product. But buyers should be wary because its greatest strength can also be considered its greatest weakness. The question comes down to this: do you want to drink chocolate cake batter? If you're thinking, "OMG I LOOVVVEEE CAKE BATTER!", then don't wait another moment, go ahead and buy. Its quality is quite superior in other regards, too.If you're thinking, "GAG, I HATE THE IDEA OF EVEN LICKING CAKE BATTER, MUCH MORESO DRINKING OVER 20 FLUID OUNCES OF THAT STUFF!", then avoid. Don't even think another moment about this.Ditto if you're thinking, "Wellllll, I kind of like cake batter, sure, but drinking over 20 fluid ounces of it? That sounds rather... much..."Obviously, if you buy the variant that isn't prepackaged, you'll not only save a bit of money but you'll also be able to control how much you mix into your milk or whatever. (I've tried both water and milk, and much prefer the latter.)Being a cake-batter-ish product, it takes a while to mix. I use a whisk and rub it between my hands for an effect like an electric mixer, and even after 60 seconds it won't be utterly mixed. But the few remaining lumps are more like smooth bumps: again, entirely like cake batter. (Except more liquidy, of course, if you're using the recommended 20 ounces of water or skim milk.) Being such a thick product would probably make it more difficult to mix other things in as well (as other reviewers have noted); but it's a meal replacement product so really there isn't much reason to mix in anything else except for flavor. And its flavor is very strong to start with. Nor is there much of a mineral taste to it!--none at all to me, and my taste is very sensitive to such things. If you're thinking, "THIS SOUNDS LIKE DRINKING EX-LAX!", yes I've had some problems with that myself. It's like drinking chocolate cake batter, duh!--with lots of liquid protein! Of course it's going to do a number on your digestive tract (probably). You know if you're willing to take the risk or not, or whether you even care. That isn't a criticism of the product: they couldn't make it like drinking cake batter and not have that risk.Ideally, you should find a single packet for sale at a store somewhere, and try it out first. But if you keep in mind the potential drawbacks, in my experience you can safely believe the hype. I'll be buying a re-supply when I eventually run out.

Great Product
Use two packets a day and I've lost 50+ pounds in the past 7 months. Have to put in the work in the gym, and eat other healthy meals too, but this stuff is great for on the go. It doesn't mix well in a shaker bottle, so I recommend mixing it. I mix two every morning in my Ninja. I store them in the fridge at work, but that tends to make it more thick...almost like sludge, so try to take it out of the fridge an hour before, or just leave it at room temperature all day. I mix mine with water, because I'm trying to lose weight, so I don't want the extra calories from milk. I've never tried it with milk, so I can't comment on that. It seems expensive, but if you break it down, it's about $2.24 for a meal. Before I started losing weight, I was drinking 3 sodas a day at $2 a bottle, so I think it's a fair trade off. Comes with a ton of Vitamins and minerals. Will hold you off from being hungry for about 2 hours...maybe a little more. I used MetRX back in the early 90s in my younger years. I switched to Myoplex, as I was a big Bill Phillips fan, but once EAS quit manufacturing Myoplex, I made the move back to MetRX, and feel it's a quality product.

I outta know...
Been using this product for over 20yrs, when it was STILL mail-order, and know the texture, taste, results... Flash to the 2020's , product formula has changed, & you can tell without mixing... tasting the dry powderwith tell you it's changed. The last time I refused to buy was 2 months ago, then it was selling for $139.. It saddens me when companies to make MORE money, LOWER the quality, but RAISE the price , by up to over 100%...
