Q: Are the pages easy to rip out?

don't know:-) appear to be secure but should be able to tear out as well as any notebook this style Sorry not to be of more help, am using them for custom field note book holders

Q: Can I use a standard pentel .07mm mechanical pencil?

Yes, I assume you mean 0.7'mm. I've had that before along with 0.5'mm and both pencils have worked fine.

Q: How thick is the paper, i believe field notes brand is 60#. is it as thick as 60#?

I would say at least 60#. We were very impressed with the little book. We had a group at our place for an outdoor training conference, and we gave them these for note taking. No one left theirs behind! You can find these all over the place, so it shouldn't be difficult to find our the paper weight with a little research. We needed them quickly, and amazon delivered.
