Yes, it is small, almost delicate-looking, but it is very pretty, both visually and auditorily. I don't know what other reviewers mean about the chimes needing a strong breeze to work. I hung mine at the back stoop, which is protected under a metal awning. They still need only a soft breeze to quietly, peacefully chime. In a stronger breeze, all the chimes are rung for several seconds and then fade away. I like the difference in tone and loudness with different "breeze strength". This is my first set of chimes from Woodstock, and I'm impressed by the quality difference that tuning seems to make. None of the tinkly, sometimes irritating quality of ordinary cheap wind chimes. I can't say I know the difference between Mars, Pluto, and Earth ones, but my Mars chime really does sound like music. I'm happy with my purchase and would consider buying a larger, more expensive Woodstock chime in the future for another spot. Definitely worth the money.

I had previously purchased a larger chime from this company and impressed by its quality and sound decided to go with the same brand when purchasing additional smaller chimes.These are exceptional quality for the price - well made, a great size for hanging on my trees and they have a pretty chime. It is good to go right out of the box and hangs easily with good quality cord .The chime is pretty and easily activated in a light wind - but not so easy that it becomes over bearing! It has a delicate pleasant tone.It has a great design, in bronze tones that are simple with clean lines! Overall this is an exceptional quality for an amazing price

I have been looking for wind chimes to hang outside our apartment for a while now, and I think what finally convinced me to make this purchase was the price. It was low enough that buying the product to try wouldn't break the bank. When we first hung the chime from a hook in the ceiling of our back patio, we realized it was too sheltered under the overhang, so we added a carabiner clip to make it hang down further. Once we added the clip the wind was able to reach the chime and it sounds lovely! The sound is a little different to traditional wind chimes, it's soft and does sound like the video clip on the product page. What I especially liked about this Woodstock chime is that the product comes with with the notes the chime will play as well as a tuning guarantee. So far the components of the chime have stood up to some spring storms, so the weather-proofing is more than adequate.

I'm happy with the purchase, but MUSICIANS TAKE NOTE!These chimes are tuned to the G **MINOR** scale. From bottom to top: D, E flat, G, A, B flat. As a result, the sound is SOMBER and mysterious. If you're looking for cheery tones, these chimes will not fit the bill. If you look diligently, the little movie that provides you with the sound sample also shows the notes of the scale to which these chimes are tuned. I didn't spot that until after receiving these chimes. It's to Woodstock chimes credit that they do this, but I wish that information wasn't "buried" in a not-obvious spot.And there's another thing to keep in mind. The "drop" - the diamond-shaped piece of wood that is meant to catch the wind - is too heavy to allow the chimes to sound in anything but a brisk gust of wind. The good thing is that the drop is easily replaced. I cut an equally sized diamond shape from the plastic top of a disposable food container and now the chimes sound with subtle regularity.I have found this "heavy drop" issue to occur with other Woodstock Chimes I've purchased in the past, though with others the drop was not replaceable.So I recommend these chimes, but please be aware of those two characteristics and decide accordingly if you're considering a purchase.

We have always purchased Woodstock chimes because of the incredible quality of SOUNDS. We own 4 now in the gardens and this one is near an office/bedroom. Its a dreamy chime that calms you. Not so loud it startles you like a bang.

Bought this “Chimes of Mars” in 2014 and until bottom piece fell off loved the sound… Chimes were outside in heat, cold, rain, ice & snow since 2014 and we’re still beautiful. Liked it so much I bought a replacement in Boothbay Harbor, Maine this weekend and just put it up…. Still beautiful sound…

Beautiful sound and quality

Es ist schön,wenn man sich vorher den Klang eines Windspiels oder einer Klangschale anhören kann. Die Wahl fällt dann natürlich leichter. Dieses Windspiel macht mir sehr viel Freude. Es ist überaus ansehnlich und überzeugt von seinen Materialien. Das wichtigste aber ist die angenehme akustische Harmonie, die ein zartes und helles Glockenspiel, sich dem Wind zu eigen macht.

Just love the sound of wind chimes especially a quality tonal sound. The Woodstock chimes offer that. They are a great quality and the sound they produce is relaxing and charming. These are outside during the winter months and with all the cold and the wind are doing perfectly well. Love waking up to sound of them. Great service and selection.
