Kalimba Songbook: 50 Easy Classic Songs

Old enough to be in my second childhood for the second time around, I am unable to read music or play an instrument; or I was until a week ago. Now I have a KALIMBA as a birthday present together with this book. It has been absolutely wonderful for me to be able to sit down and play simple tunes on this little instrument with the help of this super little book. I have found an on-line site school where I will be able to further my standard when the time is right. However, in the meantime, I know that I will not get frustrated by not learning to play anything because I run across difficulties in understanding. Full credit to the creators of this book. Well done!

Having just purchased a Kalimba I found this book the best way to start learning to play. It is based on the numbers rather than the music keys and also indicates which side from centre the numbers are located. It contains 50 songs many which are well known so that you can get the timing right. A good investment

Been trying this, and there's a lot of easy tunes you can practice.However, a few tunes have wrong or missing notes. While a total novice might not notice, someone who can play a different instrument, or has a good ear, will.For that reason, it doesn't get five stars.

I've being playing the kalimba for nearly 3 weeks now, but I must say this book is too easy and basic. No chords just standard notes. The songs are written with such low notes which makes the songs sound depressing and boring. I've got the book today and played through half of it within an hour and I am a beginner. More effort should have been taken when writing the songs down. Very dull music I am afraid.

Simple and self explanatory book. Makes it easy to follow music instructions for first time user. Has a variety of songs. Makes learning a new instrument fun.
