Easy to install and very bright to illuminate the United States flag. I purchased two of these because I also illuminate the United States Army flag as well to reflect the service of my husband's 20-year military career with the United States army. I have ordered this item in the past and it is of good quality, withstands the weather including rain and snow.

Update April 2025 - Not pleased that this happened after only a few months of use, but other buyers should be aware. The seal on the top does not stop water from entering the battery chamber, and during the Winter months, that seal failed and allowed water and melted ice to enter the battery compartment and rust the contacts. The light has failed internally, and I can no longer use it. The original review is below, and I stand by that, but it has now failed after 7 months of use. This one is working. Only for a few weeks now, but working well. I wanted to look at the battery used inside this light and was pleased to find that it uses standard 1.5v AA batteries that are rechargeable. The battery compartment is on the bottom and easily opened using a No.1 Phillips screwdriver I use EBL (Extended Battery Life)* rechargeables and have for years, so I used those in place of the batteries that were in there. Nothing was wrong with the ones that were in there, I just wanted a set I knew was at full charge when I mounted this on the flagpole. The solar panels keep them fully charged from day to day and it so far has been lit every morning until the Sun rises. The original batteries can be charged using the battery charger I have used for nearly 15 years that I bought at Harbor Freight (No Longer Available). This light shines down from about 15-20 feet and casts a light on the flag and out around its base approximately 10 ft. in diameter. It does all it needs to do to follow flag protocol on flying a flag all night and during inclement weather, which I do. I fly a 3x5 Storm Flag also available here on Amazon. High quality,well made product.Works exactly as advertised. Just follow the installation instructions and you should have no problems. I have it on a 25' pole illuminating a 3X5 flag. Remember though, its an accent light that meets the requirement tha an American flag be illuminated at night.Its not designed to light up your front yard. It does look a little like a ufo hovering when its really dark.I paired it with the Xtremepower US flag pole kit. Fits perfectly with no modifications. 4 U.S. Code § 6 - Time and occasions for display (a) It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness. 4 U.S. Code § 8 - Respect for flag No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor. (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. (c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart. (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

Works good. It is bright and lights up the flags well. The light will reach the ground from my 30’ flag pole. IT DOES NOT LAST 12+ hours as advertised though….yet. Maybe because I bought it now in winter and there just hasn’t been enough daylight to fully charge the batteries— not sure?!? I’ll update when the days get longer and more sun is out— of course the nights get shorter and it won’t be on as long either. 🤔
