Solid for Linux, 14" masquerading as 13.5"
I also bought this for linux. I installed openSuse Tumbleweed and it was relatively straightforward. The other commenter's BIOS instructions are good (F2 while booting, Ctrl +S in on main page, switch from SATA to ACHI). I installed from a USB DVD drive, kept the Windows partition as a dual boot and simply shrank it down. I only experienced issues with the sound card, and had to install the sof-firmware package and manually specify that ALSA use snd_sof_pci_intel_icl. The function keys by default seem set to ignore F1-F12 and instead are used as media keys (even in its shipped Windows install), and this also happened in linux, so it's probably a bios level setting I haven't found yet. The battery is solid and far better than my last Asus Zenbook. The fan sound is normal range - I don't care about its noise level, just that it's durable, since most manufacturers skimp on on fan quality. Now for the size: The weird design choice was made to make this taller to get close to a 14" or 3:2 display as a selling point. I wouldn't have purchased it if I'd known how tall it was. Not everyone purchases the small range for the weight - the dimensions matter as well. It's about half an inch taller than my last Asus Zenbook 13.3" and my work 2012 13" Macbook (both 8.5"x12"). The tall size bugs the mess out of me, and I've never had to think twice about the dimensions of a 13" range laptop before. The actual dimensions of the clamshell are 9"x12" (the page product dimensions are wrong), and the screen itself is 7.5"x11.2". It sticks awkwardly out of my small messenger bag by half an inch. Ugh. Still, I'll keep it and just give it the occasional side-eye rather than swapping for a smaller model. I'm annoyed but comfortable, as they say.

Incredible laptop with great features and screen
This is my second Acer Swift and I absolutely love this computer. With a 10th gen Intel Core I7, 16gb of ram, and 1tb ssd this machine met my requirements for work and play. It's sleek and yet the keyboard is really comfortable to type on. And the screen is a joy to use. 3:2 is so helpful with work and browsing and the 2256 x 1504 resolution is bright and crystal clear. And I haven't even mentioned Thunderbolt 3 and Wi-Fi 6. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone who needs a good work laptop that also knows how to play.

Clean and fast
I've only had it for a short time. I bought it for photo editing, and so far it provides smooth operation; very few pauses due to photo size (10-12 MB). The only thing I don't particularly like is the touchpad, so I am using a wireless mouse. You can modify some settings, but the left click is a little stiff and loud. I didn't have much luck with getting Acer support for setup questions. For the most part I was able to work through them.
