Reliable and well-made clippers stand the test of time
I have had the Lithium Ion Pro clippers for our dogs since May 2016. I am JUST NOW shopping for new blades. And no, I didn’t keep it clean or oil it, like it says. It still charges just fine and holds the charge just like when I first bought it. We have used it on all four of our dogs, two that have passed away. Get the clippers. Great price and a good buy.

SUPERB for pets AND people! Nervous dog tolerates well. Pays for itself in 1 cut!
My precious (but very anxious) pup HATED going to the groomer, especially the electric clippers. When my groomer went out of business, I bought Scaredy Clips scissors for grooming my dog at home (which work well but time-consuming). I spent a ton of time picking a buzzer. I wanted a professional grade wireless clipper from Wahl, but those were super expensive and most were corded. When I found this, because they're so inexpensive, I didn't expect much, but I was blown away - these are fantastic and you don't need anything more expensive to cut your dog's fur at home. Your dog loves you and hates their groomer, so they'd probably prefer you groom them instead. This pays for itself in 1 cut. Works well on humans too! I just started cutting my human partner's hair at home and - instead of buying a separate buzzer for him - I use these wahl pet clippers and guards on him! Better than a $60 hair salon cut. I was TOTALLY inexperienced with electric clippers when I got these and now I feel like a pro! So easy to use. Battery life is EXCEPTIONAL! If you want to cut pet or human hair at home, you cannot go wrong with these. TIPS: make sure to oil blades each time. Don't ever use on wet hair or wet fur - must dry completely. On dogs, you go WITH the grain (which is important but feels weird) and on humans, you go against the grain. If you have a nervous dog, before using it on them, spend time each day for 2 weeks conditioning them (can google for more instructions) to this by giving them treats with the buzzer on (don't use it on them yet) and tell them something like "good buzzer!" when they don't bark or bite at it - after 2 weeks of conditioning them to get closer and more comfortable to it, they'll be more ready for their fur cut (my dog actually LOVES it, seems very soothing to him, and by contrast he nips at me when I use silent scissors to trim his toe fur). Whether for pets or humans, watch tutorial youtube videos first - very helpful. You won't regret this purchase. This kit contains everything you need.

What to get if your dog has thick poodle fur! <3
These are my first set of pet clippers and I got them to use on my poodle mix. He's 2 now and his fur grows way faster than it did last year. A month after getting shaved his fur was already three inches long and he was overheating in the summer heat! I finally decided to try my own hand at grooming him. These clippers made it pretty idiot proof which I appreciated exponentially! You can see from the pictures they did awesome on my little guy. Pros: They worked very well and its basically impossible to nick your dog while the guard is on, even if you accidentally press it into loose skin. Before using it on him I tried it every which way on my arm to see if it'd cut me and it wouldn't. I love that it's cordless and the charge lasts a long time. I had two sessions on him and both were an hour long. The clippers never lost their charge or anything during this time. The clippers went through his long fur like butter most of the time, even in places that weren't brushed out as well. The kit also comes with round tip grooming scissors which I really appreciated. Cons: If these are considered quiet clippers I don't want to hear loud ones! My dog didn't mind the noise (he's gone to the groomers many times) and it didn't hurt my ears or anything, but it did give me a slight ringing in my ears/ made things sound funny for a bit after I shut them off. Also these clippers DO get pretty hot. As I said, I was using them pretty much continuously for an hour at a time. Where I was holding the clippers I could feel it get really warm and if I took off the guard and touched the blades they were almost hot enough to actually burn your skin. HOWEVER, you can still use them if you are using a guard and it gets this hot as the heat, while it does transfer through some, doesn't get burning level hot on the plastic guard. At most the guard just got very, very warm. The guard also covers up completely the hottest area so you can continue to shave your pet without fear of burning them. Expect to get covered in sweat if you do this, however! This might be a problem if you have a dog that overheats easily, although my dog (mini poodle sized) didn't seem to care or be bothered at all. Also, at some points I had to turn off the clippers, take off the guard, and get all the hair out of it as it built up and slowed them down. I only needed to do this three or four times during, however, and it takes no time at all as most of the time I could just blow it off. The case is really, really cheap plastic and has no compartments, but its good to just keep all your grooming supplies together. Packaging cons: The air bags that were inside the actual case weren't inflated so the contents inside (including the clippers) were subjected to the mailing process, especially since they were all just loose in the case. No problems from that (yet, at least) however. Also, the instruction manual that came inside had a mysterious brown stain on it. It almost looked like coffee, but it wasn't from any of mine! The stain was dry and I noticed it right after opening the case. It was really weird... I just tried to not touch that area. lol Overall, the pros outweigh the cons to me. It worked wonderfully on my dog and they were pretty idiot proof as far as potentially hurting your dog (as long as you use the guards, of course). They were on sale for about the same price as one grooming session, so they've already paid for themself! I'm really glad I got these clippers instead of one of Wahl's cheaper pet clipper kits.

Amazing price for a great clipper for dogs!!
This thing is a beast! I bought it when I got a very hairy doggy given to me. He is a german spitz pomeranian. His hair was so thick and fluffy. But we live in the countey. And he loves to run and frolick. Long fluffy hair makes him so hot. So I took him almost down to the skin. This thing gave me 3 hair cuts on him. He weighs 22lbs and is medium size. Thick long hair. Cut through like butter. Comes with guards as well. I'll be buying another for human hair cuts. Not having a cord attacked really helps move it freely around.

JUNK-Made for cutting human type of hair, not animal fur/hair
How is this #1 for cat grooming? Seriously? It is nothing more than my beard trimmer with a fatter handle and the exact same cutting edge and space between blades. This is effective for the type of hair humans have but not animal fur/hair. Since the blade teeth are so close, thick fur presses up against it without going between the teeth so it cuts minuscule amounts of hair each time. I have a Ragdoll cat with long and thick hair. I spent 1 hour 3 days in a row trying to groom him. Ridiculous! My cat was a bit nervous at first but then liked it and he would just lay there and roll from one side to the other to get different spots like I was petting him. About an hour was all he was interested in getting and all I could physically do. That said I was only able to trim about 1/2 his body in all of that time. Not sure how this is good for dogs either since all of the dogs I've had also have this type of thick fur next to their skin. The attachments only made the cutting slower. Battery lasted well and I did not have to recharge. The only useful thing in the whole pack was the scissors and i already have one of those. I trimmed more with the scissors in 10 min than an hour with this trimmer. My father in law said he has always used sheep shears to get most of it off and then touch up the more sensitive areas with an electric razor like this. The distance between the teeth allows the fur/hair to easily get between the blades for cutting and that is similar to what some of these grooming clippers should be like although maybe not as extreme. Why do pets hate getting groomed? -Because it takes so long with junk clippers make for human hair. Returning this and will just use a scissors until something that acyually works comes along. My beard trimmer will easily work in the place of this product and I can sterilize my trimmer, or just buy a cheaper $20 version.

1st Impression of Lithium Ion Pro home pet grooming kit by WAHL = GOOD!
1st review - 6/17/14: This will be my initial assesment. I have never cut a dogs hair before. My Lion Pro model 9766, came in a somewhat cheap carrying case with 4 guides, a comb, a small brush for cleaning cutter, and a small bottle of oil, a wall charger, and the cutter itself. I charged cutter overnight, but cutter was fully charged within a few hours. It has a convenient charge light on cutter. Light on = charging, light off = fully charged. So next day I oiled the blade, put on a guide, and went to town. IT CUT GREAT! Had to slow down going thru some matting but never had to stop. Then put on a smaller guide for face, paws, and crotch/butt area. I stopped frequently for a few minutes to let my dog de-stress, but never had to stop because the blade got too warm or the internal battery got too warm. Ran just a little warm, nothing like I read about in other reviews of other cutters. My dog is a 23 lb Long Hair/Broken Hair Jack Russel Terrier who was very patient during my clumsy effort at his first haircut by me. Total cutting time was about 30 min. But with frequent stopping raised this to about 50 min. The unit itself fit well into my averaged sized man's hand. Very little vibration. Noise level was low it seemed to me but have never tried another dog trimmer. From reading other reviews of other products; WAHL, OSTER, and ANDIS, mostly, some units can be very loud. It has a blade depth adjustment on left side but I have not used it and am not sure yet how to use it. Seems to function smoothly. The unit looks good being black with a silver inlay and a blue charge light on the silver. The Wahl logo in green on black also looks sharp. Like I said, it fits well in my hand and is not that heavy. Don't get me wrong, it has got weight to it. The motor seems to have good power and that means some weight, but did not feel super heavy. Guides are just plastic but seem sturdy enough and worked great! The blade itself, Wahl p/n: 1045, can be replaced for about $12 from Amazon. Dirt cheap. The 1045 blade set is equivalent to a #30 blade. An all around blade that worked well for me. Other blade sizes are available for course and fine work. The whole unit/kit from Amazon was only $49. Great price for a , so far, great product. I have given it 5 stars on the basis of my initial experience with this unit. I will add follow up comments as time goes by and I get to see how this cutter performs over the long haul. If there are any defects or issues with this unit they will have to show up over time because my initial outing with the Wahl 9766 Lithium Ion Pro Series Home Pet Clipper kit was a very good one and left me feeling happy with my purchase.

Wahl NOT SO Quiet Pet Clipper
Wahl Lithium Ion Pro Series Cordless Rechargeable Low Noise/Quiet Pet Clipper Hair Cutting Kit from Grooming Dog or Cat fur by The Brand Used By Professionals. #9766 I bought this for three reasons: 1. I trust the brand (my boyfriend buys this brand for his personal use) 2. This model number was recommended for trimming the curly/wavy coat of a poodle. 3. The title states that it is low noise/quiet It will definitely trim down my poodle's coat. It's strong and the battery lasts long enough for me to finish a 20 lb poodle. I've used it twice and it hasn't died on me mid-groom. The attachable guide combs are perfect for choosing the right length. Purple seems to be our preferred length. By the way, don't put on the red guide comb and then shave against the growth of the fur. My poodle now has a spot that is REALLY short on his rump. Having a quiet trimmer is important. Unfortunately, I turned it on and it did not sound that quiet to me. My dog did not like the noise of the clippers at all. I compared the noise of this Wahl pet grooming clippers with my boyfriend's Wahl hair clippers. My boyfriend's Wahl hair clippers were much quieter. I was unable to convince him to switch, so I'll use this one until I can find a quieter brand. The kit comes with a pair of scissors and a plastic comb. The scissors are great, very sharp! I took them from the kit to trim my own hair. Works well.

GREAT Clippers!!
I have two Schnauzers which get their hair cuts four times a year. Taking them to a groomer cost $70 each with a tip. That's right...$140 combined for their trip to the groomer. Last year during lock down, I decided to buy these clippers because I couldn't take my boys to the groomer. I read through the reviews and purchased these clippers. Needless to say I was VERY impressed at how easily they cut through their hair. My white Schnauzer's hair is very soft and flowy so cutting his hair is like going through butter. My black Schnauzer has more coarse hair but these clippers didn't disappoint! Cut through his hair like butter too!! The clippers aren't super noisy either. Which anyone who cuts their dog's hair knows...noisy clippers are a scary thing for dogs! They don't even mind when you clip the hair on their heads, ears and faces. As some reviews point out....yes, they got a little warm but, NOT anything warmer than any other clippers. Not to mention if you have them on for 30+ minutes and you're holding them in a closed hand...they're gonna get warm!!! But again, not too warm to be dangerous or burn you or your pet. And the heat doesn't transfer to you pet because the guard is what's touching their skin and the guard is plastic so it stays cool to the touch. These clippers have a really strong motor and hold a charge very well and for a LONG time. I can cut both Schnauzers which are 30 pounds each in just over an hour without loosing any strength. The last awesome piece to these clippers....they work PERFECTLY on HUMAN hair too!!! I use them to trim my beard and also cut my partner's hair. They work fantastically!! I ordered an extra set of complete guards 1-7 so i can do any length I need. These are a GREAT buy for the price and you get professional results!! I've already saved over $500 between the dogs and my partner's hair cuts. So, yeah....I'm MORE than happy!!
