Easy Install
This is a really good product. Quality is pretty good. Only recommendation is to ensure the piston adjuster is facing down so it lasts longer.

Works well but installation is tricky.
Works well but installation is tricky. I have it on my patio gate. Had to dig up YouTube videos for installation help though. The instructions in the packaging is useless. Good quality product.

Extremely noisy
Heavy duty but oh dear - what a racket it makes when opening or closing.

A bit tricky to install but well made and works perfectly!
I've had this gate closer installed for about a year now, on my rear patio wooden gate (roughly 5 ft x 3 ft, about .5 in thick). I was originally hoping for something less conspicuous, but had a hard time finding outdoor closers at a reasonable price that don't slam, looks aside. We decided to install this and put on a new wrought-iron latch to match. As another reviewer stated, installation wasn't too difficult *except* when it came time to insert the two pins, which was pretty tricky. This was a side-effect of having a wall perpendicular to the gate on the hinge side, which makes it impossible to open the gate more than 90 degrees (and I lost another 10-15 degrees after installing this closer on the outside of the gate, since it buts up against said wall when the gate is open). Anyone installing on a gate with some clearance on the hinge side probably won't have this trouble. After installing, it was a bit tricky to get the spring tension just right. It required a sensitive touch in order to get the gate to close slowly most of the way and then go faster just before closing in order to secure the latch. Once it was all installed and tweaked, though, the unit works *exactly* the way I wanted, slowly closing the gate and then quickly releasing so the latch can engage. The included metal cover helps keep the innards free of leaves & spider webs, and makes it look nicer.I have noticed the springs make a little more noise now than they did brand new, but a little grease will probably fix that.

Works great at making a steel gate close slowly.
Swapped out an old one on a steel gate with this one. Used the mounting hardware from the old one since it was welded to the gate and everything was an exact fit still. The new one is the same after 13+ years pretty much. The only difference from the one on the gate from 13 years ago and this one is that this one the removable metal plate that covers the springs is a bit thinner, has an easier adjustment screw on the top, the springs are a bit narrower and the hydraulic is skinnier. Regardless of these minor differences it works still and does what it was intended for. I like that this had a hand tighten adjustment screw on the top to adjust how quick it closes the steel gate.

It does the job but lot if manual tweaks
The parts look solid when I installed them but the instructions were a bit confusing. I have worked on cars, built many things before but this one got me good. After having it installed for about a year the clip that holds it place fell off. Maybe it is how I installed it. Ut I had to pad my fence pist a bit to align the door to the ez-gate. Anyhow I have to adjust it every time the weather changes and other times if wi d speed changed I have to adjust it as well. User error? Anyhow I like that is stops the gate fro. Slamming when it is windy so it serves its purpose.

Working well
Working well. A bit on the heavy side and rather large. Had a great deal of trouble getting last pin in due to strength of springs
