This is a great product! I used to buy spray cans of the carb cleaner stuff but I will never do that again. This tub of carb cleaner will probably last forever. This paint can sized bucket of cleaner comes with a parts dipper that has perferated holes in the bottom of it. This allows you to place your parts in the bucket and dip them down into the cleaner. When you're finished, you pull the bucket back up and about 95% of the cleaner drains through the bottom of the dipper.I've used this to clean grease and grime off of old moped parts, to make old screw shiney again, basically anything that you'd like to be free from oil and debris you can throw in here, let it sit for an hour or two and then pull out. You'll need to wipe your parts clean, of course, but that's as simple as getting a roll of paper towels or an old rag and wiping the stuff of. I used to go through two or three spray cans when cleaning a bunch of old parts. I've had this bucket of carb cleaner for almost a year and it's probably still 70% there.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who spends a lot of time cleaning old oily parts. It is so easy to use and goes sooooo much further than buying the spray cans.

Shockingly effective at cleaning carburetor parts and more!
In the past I'd used carburetor cleaner, a relatively soft plastic blade, and a very soft brass bristle brush to clean carburetor and other motor parts. I saw some very good reviews for chem-dip and decided to give it a try, and I could not have been more impressed with the results. It essentially dissolves or at least substantially softens build up and grim on carburetor and other engine parts to the point where when I'd pull a particular part, bolt, etc. out of the dip I could either just wipe off the residue with a rag or at most I'd use a tooth brush to easily scrub remaining grim or heavy residue off of the part.In most cases I'd leave a part to soak in the chem-dip for 30 to 60 minutes, but occasionally I'd leave a particularly dirty part to soak over night. Without fail, this product delivered on its advertised promise and has all but eliminated the tedious task of cautiously scrapping and scrubbing parts and the need to constantly deal w/ the much more noxious fumes of aerosol carburetor cleaner. Though, while the chem-dip does not have nearly as noxious fumes as other cleaners, I still recommend working in a ventilated space while scrubbing off the parts pulled from the dip for good measure. The only complaint I have regarding this product is the size of the can. While at 3/4 of a gallon it takes most small parts, I only wish it were bigger so I could fit even larger parts. I'll probably look to see if they offer a 3 or 5 gallon bucket with a similar strainer included in the future, as I'd love to soak elongated parts like intake manifolds and other bulkier parts.

Works amazing!!
Bought this to clean up a bunch of old solex vw carbs I was rebuilding. It works great.I disassembled the carburetors and decrease them to get the big dirt and residue off before I dipped in order to prolong the life of the chem dip. I've now cleaned up 7 carbs and it's still working good. Takes a little longer now but works.

Good product... Just not from Amazon.
I used this product to clean my scooter carburetor. I let the metal parts soak overnight and then just had to rinse everything off under tap water. After I dried everything and reassembled it all back in my bike, it started right up!! It runs better than when it was new.BUT then I went to put everything away, I noticed an o-ring and a washer in the basket. They were clearly not mine! This can must have been used and then returned to Amazon!! Yikes. That's slimy. I just giggle thinking the poor sap is probably scratching his head why his bike won't run! Serves him right.

Don't waist your money
Not good at all soaked parts for 22hrs. and they still looked the same. These weren't that dirty. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I even splashed some on my bare hand and it didn't even burn.

Not a classic carburetor cleaning fluid, but works as well as low VOC, non-Chlorinated sprays
This is not what most folks familiar with carburetors would call carb cleaner. Its not a volatile solvent. Its closer to Purple Power and similar water based cleaners. As such, it acts much slower and can affect the finish of some metals. You need to and should wear rubber gloves when using this. There are little to no fumes to worry about, but its recommended to use in a well ventilated area. No flammability concerns noted on the can. If you are working with power equipment or motorcycles, the dip basket will work fine for the whole carburetor. For automotive carbs, you'll likely find only hardware fits. So how well does it work? It removed years of caked on grease and carbon from a carb baseplate with an overnight soak PLUS a lot of scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush. It also removed mild corrosion from the throttle plates. You do need to rinse the parts with water after cleaning. I scrubbed the parts with warm water & dish soap and then a final rinse in very hot water. The baseplate looks more or less new. The carb body is clean but lost some of the factory plating. For smaller parts and lawn equipment I would still use a good spray cleaner.3 stars because its expensive and slow acting. I realize its sort of re-usable.

Great stuff. A must for any Motorcycle mechanic.
While this stuff is a caustic chemical and should be handled with caution and used in well ventilated clutter free work space. Use chemical resistant gloves (not latex, ok...nitrile is the way to go) and clean this stuff up if you spill it.I take an old cleaned out paint can or metal drain pan and poor what I need into it and use the handy strainer to submerge the parts I want to clean and de-corrode. Works great on many different types of parts and metals but I still don't trust it on anything that has plastic parts so I remove them if at all possible or use something else.
