Yes, it can hold rings and there's more than a sufficient amount of room to close the top of the case without touching the glass. It's a quite elegant looking case. I'm glad that I bought it.

Q: Can you have the metal accent engraved?

When I read your question, I looked at the piece of metal and in my opinion, one can engrave it.

Q: Can this case be used for men's rings?

I'm not big on rings and have only three in the case. They are side-by-side in the same row. They fit fine. I think that large rings, like class rings, could be a problem if placed in adjacent rows, one above another. I would offset the rows to provide clearance for the settings.
