I have both Digest and Digest Gold. I usually use Digest when I start a meal and Digest Gold afterwards if the meal goes down too slowly. Digest is good for foods with latose, but I still need to use separate latase enzyme for dairy foods. There were times when my bowels were irritable (IBS-D) and taking Digest Gold caused more problems (made it more irritable), but Digest works much better in those cases (no problems yet). Price-wise these days, I still think Digest Gold is better value if they don't cause any problems for you. Enzymes are necessary if you can't digest foods without experiencing digestive pains, discomforts, loose stools, gas, etc. The actual problem with digestion can go much deeper than you think. It can be a problem with your diet being too acidic in nature and I don't mean eating acidic foods. Staples like meats, beans and grains, starches and sugar, can cause your urine to be very acidic. Do some research regarding regarding acidic urine and you will get the full details. Taking probiotics (eg. New Chapter All Flora) can also solve many digestive issues - it did for me. Anyway, after making changes to my diet (more alkaline), taking enzymes, calcium supplement, and probiotics solve my IBS-D problems for now. Hope that lasts indefinitely though. :)

Works very well to solved bloating and gas build up. Especially before eating beans. Wouldn't do without it now after using.

I've tried many other brands of digestive enzymes, and have also tried the top of the line within this brand, Digest Gold. This simpler version, Digest, has worked the best out of anything I've taken. I can now eat salads, and other foods that before would end with me in pain and miserable. I have to take 2-4 pills depending on the meal, which is why I tried the Digest Gold, due to its higher potency. However I found that perhaps due to the thicker capsule, I wasn't getting the same benefit from it. I had stomach aches still, and only mild improvement. I've decided to stick with what works, and notice a big difference from when I wasn't taking these. I know my body is getting the nutrition from my food that it wasn't before, and I know I can eat stuff I didn't dare before.. That is more than enough to have me a buyer for life, of this product. Highly recommend!!

These are my go-to digestive enzymes. I love all of the Enzymedica products because they contain no fillers and are super easy to consume even for highly sensitive individuals like myself. Digest helps to break down food and assists our bodies in digesting so that we are not working so hard to do it on our own. I notice a difference when I use or don't use this product, so I am sure to always keep some on hand. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but they are worth it! I spent so much money buying lesser brands with additives because they were cheaper, but I experienced no positive changes. So now I stick with Enzymedica. I do prefer to buy the Digest Gold when I can afford them, because the amount of enzymes is greater, but when they budget doesn't allow, I go with regular Digest and they still help a great deal. I would highly suggest these enzymes for everyone!! We can all use some help with digestion, especially those of us who eat processed foods or American style diets. Our bodies will love the extra help to keep us running efficiently.

This product has certainly helped with minor digestive issues. Have ordered several times and was always very satisfied until this last order when we received Digest Basic instead of Digest which we ordered. It was opened before I realized the difference in the product and the price, otherwise I would have returned it for what was originally ordered. I still give 5 stars for the product but if order fulfillment was rated it would only get two stars this time.

perfect item, my stomach can't handle the proteases in other brand formulations supposed for sensitive stomach, (similase) but half of a pill of this product seems doesn't bother my stomach, although i am not taking them because I'm afraid it worsen my gastritis. I've tried these in the past and worked wonders for me. Less bloating, reflux, gas,etc

I have had IBS for several years, and on one evening I was feeling particularly desperate and decided to do a search for something natural that could help relieve some of the symptoms. I read an article about how digestive enzymes work, and it made sense. I ordered this product because I know the brand name. This product works VERY well. I notice a huge difference if I eat a meal without taking it.

Not up to my expectations, but seems to have a small effect in promoting digestion .
