A Classic Shoe - timeless
Such wonderful memories of wearing this style through the 70s and 80s and 90's . Then I sort of stopped wearing sneaks anywhere outside a tennis court. Now 25 yrs later, I'm back --- happily and nostalgically. The great thing of their simple but elegant design is that the lace supports allow you to really dial in your level of tightness. They also help provide good support to avoiding rolling ankles (ouch). They are true to fit but I bought an 11D to accomodate my wide feet and weakened arches. Thus if you're a true 9.5 EEE you can go go 10 EE then 10.5 E then 11 D (regular) .The arch support is just ok - someday shoes will come with diff arch configurations. If you want to use a firm molded "ortho" insole, you'll have to tear out the one that comes wit h the shoes otherwise it'll be a too tight fit.I did replace the cotton - and easily stained- laces with round nylon ones and they still look good. They are actual leather topped so buy a kiwi white blotter and they'll stay lily white . Don't wash with anything harsher than Dawn as you can abrade the dyed leather.Thinking on it, in all my dozens of pairs, I never once broke an eyelet -- and I tugged those laces pretty tight .Last thing, if you worry that one side of heel is wearing faster than the other: that is NORMAL. A normal stride is back right heel to front left toe (on a R shoe). Yes, suponation and pronation are a thing when beyond "normal" (source: bespoke shoemaker in family)

The BEST!
I’ve always been skeptical about purchasing white shoes because they get dirty so quickly. But the material for these almost makes it look like they’re resistant to any type of stains and/or scuffs! Well worth it!

Too big
They seem like a pair I have, but they were too small. I found a cheaper pair on sale.

If it fits, keep buying
My advice for kids' shoes is that once you find a brand that fits, just keep buying it in bigger sizes as they grow. K-Swiss works for my 2nd son, now up a size 15. Also, solid black sneakers will do in a pinch for more formal occasions, at least for boys.
