I received an Allsop lantern as a gift a few years back and my first impression was "this is gonna last about 3 months". So I hung it up on a tree branch in our back yard and just left it there. It got thrashed through at least 3 wet winters and is still going strong; color got faded a bit but other than that. So one day I was like, "I wonder who made that thing anyway" and so I found the Allsop branding on the little solar panel. Bought two more here on Amazon; they seem a little pricey but based on my experience with the first one I'm expecting them to be worth it. Best of all, my wife noticed the new lanterns right away and she loves them! Colors are good and this time I plan to store them during the winter time.

Made of very sturdy material and the reflection at night on the ground is beautiful. After many seasons of extreme temperature changes and strong sun light and winds, on an open patio with some shelter from the climbing roses sadly, a tropical storm tore it from its hanger! Will repurchase this size, perfect for us but the company has several sizes.

Horrible! I have purchased the Soji Stella Boho globe, which I think is made by the same company, three times, and I thought the quality would be similar. This one is tiny in comparison with no attractive pattern. But, worse than that, the metal piece that goes in the middle to hold the shape is way too large for the globe. I struggled and struggled to try to bend it to make it fit. When I finally got it in and hung it outside, the metal piece had popped out by the next morning.Nor did the solar power work. It was turned on and gathering sunlight all day, but not even a flicker at night. I truly hated this and I’m going to throw it straight in the trash.

I was given one of these as a gift and it's beautiful, the weave pattern is lovely and looks beautiful in the day time and at night throws such a beautiful pattern. I've now purchased 4 more to give as gifts.

Okay, I have to note this came back to life and it is acting fine now. Maybe my husband changed the batteries? Not sure. Old review: I just missed the return window for this lantern. I have had Soji lanterns in my yard for years and years. The older ones were pretty durable and lasted several seasons, especially if I changed out the batteries. That is no longer true. This year, I bought 7 Soji lanterns (from different vendors). Two already died and changing the battery did not fix them. This pierced-work blue lantern is especially disappointing as it was more expensive than the standard Soji lanterns (whose fabric covers and construction are much cheezier than the old models). I am so sad about the loss in function and quality.

I've had one of these outside through a winter (snow, etc.), and it lasted and worked perfectly. I ordered two more this year because the original one came off my tree in a windstorm, and although it survived the fall, it did not survive my puppy 🙄. I have now learned to put them outside in trees with zip ties, and they are beautiful! At night, they are like hovering globes!
