Is there a good 3rd party replacement stand for this or a way to strengthen the existing stand? The ball and socket joint doesn't inspire confidence.

I have not found any and have been looking for quite a while. I have had two stands break off right below the ball, and despite queries to the company for getting replacement parts, I have not received any response. TSHobbies makes acrylic stands for the Enterprise B, D, & E, and Excelsior, but not for any of the others. They're also a bit pricey at $32.99, but they do look very nice.

Do they all have the warping on the saucer that's shown under the 1701? I've seen video reviews and the majority have this warp.

Mine did not have any warping. One lip on the saucer section was not quite level when I got it but I gave it a pinch and it snapped into place. I'm still very happy with mine. It looks great especially when lit. If you were looking at that review on you tube I can state that it is an old review and mine had none of those problems. No warping and all decals were placed correctly and lined up straight.

Does this model come with a stand?

Yes and it is not a model its a toy ..,.and I have never seen it outside the box this was bought by a friend for himself....
