The game was made in 1996, and I would guess the most recent event to be as recent as 1994, but it may not be as recent as the 90s

So far the span of history cards have ranged from like 38ad to present. Have not completed all of the cards yet though.

Q: Are the cards at all inappropriate for elementary aged children?

None of the cards are inappropriate. This is a good family game, however a knowledge of history would be helpful when playing. Younger kids could get frustrated simply because they have not yet had the education.
