Krill oil is better than fish oil
Fish oil is more prone to go rancid in time than krill oil and krill are at the bottom end of the ocean’s food chain so they don’t have time to accumulate high levels of mercury or other contaminants like fish. I use several NOW brand supplements and they are very good quality and at a very good price so it's hard to beat.

Big But Powerful!
Even tho these are enormous and on the verge of being freakishly scary, we love them! They aren't hard to swallow, just don't try to take them with more than just this one pill at a time. I don't feel it is any different than taking 2 of my other fairly big vitamins at a time. Okay, so what is so great about them? I had seriously bad joint pain in one of my knees. It was so bad I haven't been able to get on my knees or squat down for over 3 years now. I would get an extremely sharp pain that was unbearable! In January I started taking 500 mg of a different brand. In March I bumped it up to 1,000 of that same brand. I wasn't feeling much relief so I started doing more research. In June, for reasons mentioned regarding Astaxanthin, I ordered this product. (If you compare different Krill Oil products you will see what I mean.) Astaxanthin really did make a difference! My pain is almost completely gone! Call it a coincidence, could be, but I highly doubt it since this is the only change I have made. I will keep taking this brand because I can literally "feel" the difference! Oh, and absolutely NO fish taste or burps with this product either!

Less after taste than fish oil.
This review is for using this product for improving cholesterol #'s. This is just one of the products I used.I've had mixed results with cholesterol lowering supplements and I have done a lot of research on them in the hopes of avoiding going on a statin. I've taken cholesterol supplements and had my cholesterol go down. I've not taken them and had my cholesterol go up. I've also taken them and seen no change. That being said it is definitely worth a try if you want to improve your lipids and avoid a statin.I was taking this in conjunction with other supplements, all that have some scientific research proving they work. I did see improvements in my lipid panels when I took various supplements but was never able to tell what was helping the most. When I didn't take the supplements my #'s would go up, but lately despite taking all of these supplements my #'s were high and I'm now on a statin and not taking any of them anymore. If you are concerned about your cholesterol I would strongly suggest talking to your Dr about a Coronary Calcium Scan as taking supplements can get fairly expensive. After my last lipid panel results came back elevated I went for the scan and my Dr and I decided to go on a statin instead of spending $750-$1000/year on supplements. For the record my CC Scan cost $100, most insurance will not cover it, but it was the best $100 I have ever spent on health care. For the record I had the best test results when taking the following supplements each day:Flax Oil 2 x 1000mgKrill Oil 2 x 1000mg (fish worked too but I hated the after taste, none of that with krill)TR Niacin 3 x 500mgSytrinol 2 x 150mgCoQ 10 1 x 100mgPantethine 3 x 450mgPlant Sterols 3 x 800mgGlucomannan 3 x 1150mgThese were all spaced out AM, Lunch, PM.Comparing my worst and best lipid #'s from blood tests from a lab, these supplements did the following:Total - Lowered 60 points - 22%Bad - Lowered 53 points - 27%Good - Increased 15 points - 22%Tri-G's - Lowered 37 points - 25%Good to Tri-G Ratio - Worst was 2.62, while on all these went as low as 1.75 (Harvard Med study lists this as possibly the best predictor of heart attack risk). Ideal is below 2.It should be noted that I rarely eat any meat other than fish/shell fish...rarely eat egg yolks...and have a fairly healthy diet...mainly my lipid issues are genetic.

More Potent than Mercola's Krill , Less Fishy and Less Expensive
I love NOW supplements and find the company to be highly reputable and their products to be high quality and reasonably priced. These are the highest quality Krill oil supplements from NKO that I can find. Mercola (which I've bought in the past) used to be better quality. These NOW NKO Krill have higher Omegas and astaxanthin (antioxidant with all kinds of health benefits). Also, I noticed that the NOW doesn't smell fishy like the bottle of Mercola does. I'll stick with NOW Krill from now on. The NOW have an enteric coating and krill doesn't spoil like other fish oils tend to due to the high antioxidant levels, from what I've read.Mercola used to manufacture high quality krill oil, but they've since changed suppliers and the quality is worse than what it was. They are trying to fool consumers with a "new and improved" label, but the comparison below speaks for itself.Mercola Krill Oil:1,000 mg genuine Krill Oil150 IU vitamin A400 mg omega-3 rich phospholipids90 mg EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)50 mg DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)20 mg omega-6 fatty acids600 mcg astaxanthinNow's NKO KrillNeptune Krill Oil (NKO) 1.0 g (1,000 mg)Omega-3 Fatty Acids 300 mgEicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) 150 mgDocosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) 90 mgOther Omega-3 Fatty Acids 60 mgOmega-6 Fatty Acids 20 mgOmega-9 Fatty Acids 100 mgPhospholipids 400 mgEsterified Astaxanthin 1.25 mgCholine 70 mg
