Does the job
Makes working from home easy, especially during meetings, which I usually take sitting on a sofa, or on my bed to have a privacy and allow my partner to hold hi meetings at the dining table 🙂. I also use it for the occasional late night email typing while watching tv from my sofa. The item is also easy to store as it can be folded pretty flat.

This lap desk is all that it should be!
Like most bamboo products this lap desk is light, sturdy, and inexpensive. It is everything the ads say and I expect to use it for a long time to come. The only assembly required has the user pressing the dowels on the bottom of a holder that keeps reading matter from sliding down and off. I installed my holder and then discovered five more of them in the box! Will five buyers be deprived of this essential item while the extras sit here? And, there were no instructions but my delivery included instructions for another product. The instructions are printed on a card and I was given twelve of them? My what luck I have. Amazon reported the delivery but there was no box. I contacted customer service and was told the package would arrive the next day before four in the afternoon. The next day at precisely 3:50 an unmarked vehicle entered my driveway and the driver deposited the package on my doorstep. Good going Amazon! You want a lap desk? This one should meet your needs.

Great tray table, questionable lap desk.
Pros: Sturdy top, vents work great, removable lip, lightweight, easy to store, cheaper than some more complex optionsCons: adjustable legs slip, small drawer, cheap closing latch, adjustable angle doesn't lock, useless drink groove. If you are not looking for anything fancy and just need a surface to write on/place a tray/set a laptop, this is a serviceable option. Quality could be better, but over all it is functional. To begin with, there is a strong odor when you first unpack the box. If you have ever purchased bamboo products before, you will be familiar with it. Do not worry, however, as the smell fades after a day or so.The surface itself is actually quite sturdy and solid! The vents work well keeping my beefy gaming laptop from building up too much heat. It's very leight weight, and slide easily under my couch, where I normally use it.The biggest problem is the hardware. After a week of use, the plastic closer on the back snapped, meaning it would no longer be hold the surface closed. Considering screwing on my own purchased hardware to keep it shut. The screws used to adjust the height of the legs slip easily. At least once an hour I have to stop working to adjust the height of the legs. Not a massive issue, but still annoying. Another issue is the prop for the angled surface. It is just a loose metal bar that rests in a groove. It's hard to position, and if you make one wrong move, the bar can slip out! It's pinched my fingers a couple times.Minor issues include the drawer space and the drink groove. The drawer can hold either the removable lip or a pen. Not both. It's tiny, so don't expect to be able to keep anything in the drawer. And forget about the inset for a drink. It does nothing. At all.Overall it's not a bad option if you don't want to shell out $60+ for a lap desk. Just be aware if the flaws that come with the price.

it's a great tray, with a few tweaks needed
I liked the basic design, but found a few things that I would prefer modified. when elevated to the highest amount, the tray wobbled (because the legs were of uneven length.) the item is not wide enough to put a laptop on the left and still have enough space on the right hand side to write on. while the circular indentation is a good idea, it further reduces the amount of space available to write.the mad hatter

It’s so horribly/cheaply made!
I was really looking forward to using this a lot to save myself from constantly being bent over. The adjustable legs don’t tighten down enough and they slip, causing all sorts of problems (ie: spilled drinks, pens flying, LAPTOP FALLING!!), etc. The drawer is horrible, too. It only opens if you slide your hand under the tray to open it. It’s too small for any pen, pencil, even post it’s! It’s just horrible and such a disappointment. If it didn’t cost as much as it did, I’d just toss it. But now I have to go through more wasted time and effort sending this junk back.
