Yes, helps with IBS. The l-Glutamine helps close the channels (which is the “leaky” part in “Leaky Gut” (often the main issue in IBS). Good company although they used to make a product with l-Glutamine, flax, FOS, and the herbs that really was an ‘all-in-one’ pill for IBS. Don’t know why, but they stopped making it a couple years ago and separated out the I ingredients into different products. A skeptical me thinks they did it for the money. Never got a straight answer out of them.

Why powder and capsules? Is one more effective than the other?

i take the powder because it is easier to digest ( I don't have to break down the capsule) also the dosage is higher in the powder- powder 1 scoop 5000 mg glutamine 30 servings and caps are 2 caps 835 mg glutamine 45 servings - even adding the additional capsule for a 3 cap 30 day supply is still lower than the powder and the glutamine is important for healing the intestinal lining and for leaky gut issues. hope this helps :)

Why does it say "See product label for detailed list of ingredients" and not display the label? What are these ingredients that are so hard to list?

is it true that it converts in MSG

The body *can* convert l-glutamine in to l-glutamate (or Glutamic acid), both are amino acids and are found in many proteins. The body has a large need for the amino acid l-glutamine, and a small need for l-glutamate (mostly in the brain). You need both. The body can convert l-glutamine in to l-glutamate 'on demand' as the body needs it. If it doesn't need it, it doesn't convert it. MSG is monosodium glutamate, note the "glutamate" at the end. Just because someone is sensitive to MSG, does NOT mean they're sensitive to l-glutamine! They aren't, people need this amino acid. However, if you consume meat you probably already get enough of it for dietary needs. If using it to heal the gut there are probably less expensive sources of it.
