Will this shampoo soft the hair ?

This shampoo is great for curly hair. If hair is too dry, that’s a sign of dehydration. I recommend using oils (without proteins) meaning, coconut oil NOT olive oil. Pinterest offers lists for oils that help with moisture. Also, be sure to follow up shampoo with a leave in conditioner. You should only be shampooing 1x a week for kids over 2 and maybe 1x a month if they’re younger. Shampoo is very drying. Switching to this shampoo is a great start, but they need moisture and less wash days. Conditioner or oils are okay daily or every couple of days. I hope this helps.

Is the smell strong? And does it stay on hair?

Not a strong smell it’s a light sweet scent that does last on the hair it smells really nice not strong at all

How long should you leave conditioner in？

I dispense a small round amount, 1cm ball, depending on hair length. Start with less, finger brush through hair and style as usual or air dry. Repeat after each shower. Great leave in conditioner.
