Tribest Greenstar GS-1000 Original Slow Masticating Juicer
Great product and works miracles.

Great juicer
This is the second one of these that I have owned. The first I had overseas, with the European plug, so I left it there with a friend. Twin gear juicers are by far the best for extracting all the goodness from fruits and veggies without the damaging heat. The only downside is cleanup, but these are fairly simple to break down and clean and well worth the effort for the best juice.

Great value for the price
The machine is not perfect obviously, and if you overload it or try to put soft fruit into it through the fine screen it will ooze pulp through the cracks of the gear housing, but when you run it properly and clean it properly this juicer works like a champ. It's not as fragile as I was afraid it would be and it has juiced 40 lb bags of carrots at a shot just taking a single break in the middle as recommended in the user's guide. I would recommend that if you plan to juice soft fruits like pineapple, to get a coarse screen (which doesn't come with the GS-1000). The fine screen backs up and while the blank works okay, you get all the pulp with the juice as well (which I don't mind but some people might not like that). For wheat grass and hard vegetables, this juicer is ideal with the fine screen. I have quite the opposite of buyer's remorse here, and I'm very glad I made this purchase. I've been able to make my own juices, saving money on store-bought juice and getting better quality juice as well since it's made fresh. I think in a few more months this juicer will have paid for itself.

must for microfarming
As a suburban microfarmer who produces for self sufficiency rather than for the market, this is ideal. It has given me a better way to process my bumper crops of apples and pears which in prior years just fell on the ground and rotted or were mixed with incredible quanties of sugar to make/can jam for the winter months. Now we consume more of our fruit fresh. Nobody in our family feels anymore the need to make an effort to stuff themselves full of fruit they do not want to eat in order not to waste food. We just drink our pears/apples in the morning in the form of a delicious, nutrient dense juice. I cannot compare my juicer to others as it is the only one I know. I just tried to get the one closest to the Gerson philosophy but that was within my budget. I am always looking for techniques which allow me to bring another aspect of food processing from the market to the home and to produce somethiing that the consumer market cannot usually produce. So my Greenstar juicer now has a place of honor next to my solar oven (which, like my juicer, also allows me to produce/process in a way that the mass market cannot).

huge investment gone awry
I purchased this juicer 9 months ago; and had erred on the side of too much optimism, given it a good review, despite my strong apprehension about dealing with the same company: The Tribest Corp. Alas, honeymoon period is over. I owned Solostar, a single gear juicer from Tribest for many years. It is when I became a more regular user that it began to fall apart; mostly the juicing screen, and later on, I found the cheap plastic augur housing kept cracking as well. As soon as I tried to make warrantee claims; it appears the whole thing must be my fault, at least from the Tribest's perspective; either I'm using it too much (every other day yielding 1 ½ cup of juice), misusing it somehow, or time to buy their higher end Green Star juicer. The new screens they sent me would crack, sometimes after single use; I could detect the hairline cracks along the pressure points that would only get bigger with a few more use. It was a battle every time I had to contact their customer service, and eventually when warrantee expired, I spent more money purchasing parts than this juicer was worth. And they said the parts were also covered under warrantee, except when you try to make a claim. Finally I gave the Green Star a chance, almost $500; a huge investment for me. I took a good look at the juicing screen and the housing; and thought nothing bad could come of these. Well, turned out to be much worse. It's weakest link turns out to be the most expensive part: the twin gear. Just about a month ago, I've noticed the nylon part of one of the gear was splitting, leaving a small gap where fibers get caught. That particular gear has nylon section in two different diameters which are two separate pieces joined together, and probably with stress of use (I believe I am supposed to use it - and twin gear juicers do require more effort) , it had separated, therefore it wasn't a random crack along the nylon, rather separation of two parts. And I am told by service, one of the other woes I can expect from the twin gear is the cracking of the nylon. Well, when I contacted them about this issue, I got a rude response from Service manager, Mario Duenas; quoting history of my warrantee claims from owning Solostar, along with accusations I must be running a juicing business. And initially insisted I should purchase the gear; costing $100. Now, I have a huge quandary before me; the weakest link to this expensive juicer, is the most expensive part: the twin gear. And I have to look forward to next 4+ years of deal with rude, condescending, and downright obnoxious customer service personnel, unwilling to be accountable for their products and warrantee. Obviously I have made a huge mistake in choosing this juicer. Be very weary of choosing products from this company: Tribest Corp.

This is a true workhorse juicer. I've been using mine for about 8 years now to process crabapples into juice in the fall, and it's going strong with no sign of wear or other issues. It's not fast, but it does a great job of extracting juice.

Absolutely love this machine. The juice is really good and cool. Slow process but this preserves the vitamins and enzymes. Highly recommend this machine to the serious juicer.

took me 2-3 juicing sessions to fully get accustomed to the juicing experience and cleanup tasks. now i LOVE this machine. juices amaaazingly any greens and hard veg's. I would say it is mediocre with fruits like oranges -- even with the fruit attachment option -- you really need to alternate vegetables and pulpy fruits to get things to flush thru well -- which means, if youre juicing for fruit juices primarily -- then dont buy this..... But is really good with hard green apples. I purchased Oxo 1285700CM Deep Clean Brush Set here on amazon later on to help in the cleanup tasks. would recommend this kit to supplement the brushes that come with the greenstar. i give it 4/5 stars because for this kind of money, i would expect this to juice fruits AND vegetables ALL, very well. But if you do a lot of veg & mix with some fruits, then this is probably among the top contenders. (i've owned two juicers prior). .

Love it. I juice with this juice extractor almost everyday and find no fault with. On the contrary, I find it much better than the newer model as well as many centrifugal juicers that I tried before; the yield and taste of the juice is significantly higher.

Be careful what you buy on Amazon, because they cheat. We bought on March 25, 2022 TRIBEST GS 1000 GREEN STAR PAID CAD 647.25 as we read how to use this machine. We took it apart and put it back together, which is indeed a problem. We tried to let the chopped cabbage pass, she didn't even want to go through the throat. My wife said she didn't want it, we decided to return it before there was a bigger problem. We called, said we didn't want this product. We were sent a returnable label. We sent back, AMAZON received on April 7, 2022. charged us CAD71.53 despite having 30 days return time. When we called and asked what we were charged for, we were told it was damaged but no proof was provided, we asked for a supervisor, she gave us another reason. She told us they charged us for not liking the machine. So be careful with AMAZON
