Unibond Kitchen and Bath sealant
Excellent value for money. The size of tube made applying sealant easy. Bright white colour. Looks a good water-proof finish that will last. To apply I filled bath with water, applied sealant and then left for 24 hours before emptying the water from the bath. Very pleased with finish.

Handy and easy to use for small jobs.
I have used these for years and always keep one on hand for small jobs. Very easy to use. I'm sure a professional would get through one of these in 5 minutes but for amateurs and occasional / small jobs these work really well.

Good product, be aware of some aspects of it
I chose this slightly randomly as there are so many sealants on offer. Didn't really look at it more than to check the ratings were pretty good. Positives 1. (and most importantly) It did a nice tidy job 2. it's a good colour, what you'd call a bright white 3. Because it's a pressurised pump it's easy to use, doesn't keep coming out after you release the pressure switch (unlike manual pumps) Downsides 1. it's thicker/stickier than any sealant i've ever used. Make sure you have wipes handy to wipe it off 2. The following day there is still a lingering smell 3. The end is pre-cut so little option to make it narrow or wide (not necessary for many) Honestly, i'd buy again. I only gave it a 4 because of the stickiness which can make it a little hard to use in tight spaces (eg behind taps)

Good - over engineered bottle
Had issues with the cap mechanism as well.. the instructions are clear, the thing just doesnt do what it says.. but once you wangle it into submission - it works well..

Great for the lazy DIY person, but you dont get a lot
i recently painted my garden shed. i purchase the paint, a nice big brush and a tray. two slats in and i realised it was going to take the whole weekend. I immediately went out and bought a paint spray gun and an hour later my entire shed was a beautiful shade of brown. the moral of this story is that i value my time more than anything, and if i can spend money to make my life easier then i will. my bathroom skirting had never been silicone sealed to the floor, which means i constantly battled dust, hair and the odd cotton bud sticking out from the gap. i finally decided to remedy this. now, i dont own one of those silicone guns, i figured if i bought one i would use it once and it would be left in my newly painted shed to die. i also didnt feel comfortable with the action of pumping the trigger to ensure a steady stream of silicone. it felt like a skill that i had no time nor desire to perfect. enter Unibond bathroom and kitchen sealent. i do tend to buy known brands whenever possible for DIY projects. Dulux for the walls, Ronseal for the shed (did i tell you about my shed, it really is lovely!), and so i was levitating toward Unibond as it is a known brand. my experience with these brands is that the application and impact are just better. this cannister has auto pump technology which means i dont need a separate gun to apply, which for me was great. the actual application is very easy, hold the trigger down slightly and a consistent flow of silicone oozes from the nozzle. i chased this with a finger dipped in washing up liquid and water and it smoothed out perfectly. the effect is a very white smooth seal. so white infact, that i now need to paint my skirting boards as they look yellow in comparison. the main problem here is value for money. my bathroom is not large and i only had around 5 meters of gap to seal, yet i still needed to purchase a 2nd can to complete the job. you really dont get a lot in the small pressurized container. yes i spend money for convenience but i also dont want to feel robbed. i would say this is perfect to have in the cupboard for very small jobs or replacing a simgle strip of silicone, but for any larger projects there are far more cost effective methods. maybe my shed will be getting a new resident after all. did i mention my shed, its very nice!
