Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons is an absolutely delightful and fun book for young readers! The story follows Pete the Cat as he loses his buttons one by one, but he remains upbeat and positive through it all. The message of resilience, optimism, and not sweating the small stuff is a perfect lesson for kids.

My newly turned 3 year old absolutely adores this book and requests to read it multiple times every night. This is the first hardcover book I've bought my son and I was initially worried he'd have it destroyed by the end of the first night (he eagerly and roughly turns pages). Fortunately, the pages are durable and have a glossy/laminated feel to them. He has definitely bent and/or creased MANY pages after dozens of read throughs, but not a single page has actually ripped.The story itself is very simple and repetitive, but these are great qualities in a children's book. Pete's button song is so catchy and fun, I find myself singing it to my toddler randomly throughout the day. Best of all, there's not a lot of text on each page, which is great for little ones who don't have much of an attention span. It's worth noting the illustrations are bold, adorable, and definitely unique to the Pete the Cat series.My son is 3 years old and is obsessed with this book, but I feel like he would have enjoyed it just as much at 2 or 2.5 years old. So don't be put off by the "4-7 year old" age range listed on this product page.

It is a preschool math book - subtraction! Cute illustrations - very colorful.

(You're likely to find the beloved children in your life starting to draw their own masterpieces of Pete and his feline world, opening up another world of creative expression.) Many children's books are filled with beautiful art, but art that would be overwhelming for a child (or even most adults) to attempt to model. Pete is drawn in a more simplistic way; kids will be pleased at their abilities to create their own likenesses of this charming cat.An added bonus: this particular title (in hardback) comes with a downloadableaudio-visual version of the story. The catchy song, sung by a group of children, is easy to learn. After a listen or two, don't be surprised if kids will be singing the song as you read the book together!Pete the CAT and His Four Groovy Buttons inspires kids to learn and be creative on many levels. It's by far one of the best titles I've seen in Children's books, and I'm betting it will be a classic these kids will read to their own children someday.
