Krypton Copper Free Antifouling Bottom Paint for Fiberglass, Wood, Aluminum and Steel Boats, Outdrives and Trim Tabs (Blue, Gallon)

Excellent paint for my Volvo penta dp-s drives! Very high quality and adhered very well to a zinc chromate primer. Paint dries with a very nice eggshell finish which looks great and hides imperfections well. I used a HVLP paint sprayer to shoot the paint and it worked very well when thinned with the total boat paint thinner. Excited to see it it keeps the zebra mussels off!

I got this paint because a sailing magazine did a test where they painted different parts of a boat with different ablative paints. Total Boat Krypton had the least growth after two years. There was almost nothing there but the paint. The cans are well sealed, they arrived severely dented but did not leak. Maybe see if it can be purchased locally. If you are replacing a marine toilet, try to buy that locally too. I actually heard mine break when the post office lady carried to to my door and abruptly dropped it instead of leaning over to set it down.

This is by far the best paint I have ever used. The color blue screams "I'm a boat who enjoys life". Goes on smooth with a sheen that is almost reflective. Coverage is amazing! Two coats on a 22ft Grady Seafarer with one gallon and still have a quarter can after touch ups. Cheap, no, but cheap looks cheap. Spend the extra money and you'll be smiling all the down the intercoastal.

This paint spread further than I anticipated. I painted the pontoons on a 24 ft. boat and only used half a gallon.

The gallon of paint arrived severely dented and with most of the bubble wrap popped inside the box. The handle had popped off of the side of the can as well and couldn't be re-attached. I am very surprised that the can didnt rupture. Despite a this side up sticker on the side of the box, it was placed on its side on my front porch. I have sanded off VC 17 bottom paint and included a photo of the bare hull. I painted a 20" square as a test spot and am so far pleased with the results. When checked the next day, the paint has good adherance and dried completely to a slick finish. Will update this review as I learn more but so far so good.

I would not recommend oredering this paint, despite it looking likke a decent quality paint. I had a window to get my boat sand blasted and painted, and had put a gallon on, which did not quite cover the bottom. I immediately ordered another gallon, which did not show up, and eventually showed up as the package being damaged. Not knowing the procedure, instead of immediately shipping me a new gallon, they refunded my money, which I am still waiting on. The boatyard could not wait, so I do not know when I can get another slot to get it painted, maybe in a month or two, making me miss the spring season. I saw this happened to someone else, and this is gross incompetence. I should have bought the paint locally, it was not that much more, but I was told that this was good environmentally compliant paint. Well regardless of the quality, if you can't get a gallon of paint in a prompt manner, its no good. Another complaint I have is the paint was so globbed up in the bottom, that I had to buy a paint shaker to get it stirred properly. The boat yard guys was considering using this paint, but are just as disgusted with the crappy service. Given that A) I did not get the paint, B) still don't have it, and C) it was not reshipped promptly instead of giving me a refund, D) The globular nature of the paint, and E) Having to reorder from scratch, despite the paint lookiing halfway decent and applied halfway decently on the can I got, I am still disgusted. Amazon did not specify that I would get a 2-4 day refund instead of a reship, which really disgusted me, they could have emaiiled me. I would not buy this paint, go to your local marine store.

This ablative is best price avaliable for aluminum that I could find. Ordered previously with no problems. Last shipment must have been trampled by a herd of elephants due to the condition of container. Contents did not spill due to sturdyness of can. Had to transfer contents to another container because lid was bent so badly. Handle was detatched. Not the companys fault. Would recommend the paint but not the delivery!

It covers very well and goes a long way .
