Very poor quality!
This chain stretched an impossible amount. Half an inch over 12 inches! This happened over two years of moderate riding. I should have been measuring more often. I noticed it when I forgot to reset my rear derailleur clutch and experienced extreme chain-suck. I remember two years ago it was making unusual noises with my all new drive train. I shouldn’t have ignored that. Now I need a whole new drive chain again!

Durace chain looks factory but box is diff.
I bought a new cn-hg901 shimano11s from motavik everyone said beware of counterfeits So I inspected it carefully my last durace chain I bought from amazon it’s been on for 2500k and still good. The pins are hollow as should be and the writing on the chain looks perfect. However the box has a different format than all the other ones shown on the net. I believe maybe it’s direct from Japan or another country who boxes differently. The box print looks great, but could be a new style box? I am keeping it but maybe the shipper could explain the box change.

The best you know is the best you know
Upgraded my shock and during the tuning process I banged up the chain so off to Amazon for the rescue. Opted for the XT correctly assuming the top of the Shimano food chain was worth the extra and lo and behold...it was!! You don't realize how much your shift quality stinks until you make a change like this. I never thought it was bad before, but it is certainly amazing now. I would go as far to say better than new compared to my standard Shimano chain on a Shimano 11spd XT drivetrain. I'm not sure how much of this is due to the XT being directional or having special ramps, etc that the OEM Shimano chain lacked, but whatever it is I am certainly enjoying the change. Old chain had 240 miles or so before I wrecked it and there currently isn't many on the new chain, but I can tell this is going to be a good relationship. :)

I bought this to replace my original HG701 symmetric Ultegra chain. I run R8070 Ultegra Di2. This doesn't come with a quicklink, nor was I expecting it to do so. I bought a pair from Decathlon, which work perfectly well. After fitting the chain to size (compact with 11/34), I went for a ride. I was pleasantly surprised with the shift quality, which I expect is down to the asymmetric chain. Shifting seemed smoother, which was quite remarkable given the already superb shift quality. Another commendation is how quiet this chain is. I suspect this is the sil-tec, but compared to my old chain, but I barely realise I'm moving. Even after 150 miles of wear, with a tailwind a couple of days ago (so no wind noise), I was going at 20 mph and the only sound was the slightest hum of the tyres. Truly remarkable, and a marginal gain on efficiency. For the price (a couple of bob more than Ultegra) I think this chain is well worth the money. I really cannot fault it. Just remember to buy your quick link if you want one.
