This candle hits many right notes. First, the glass holder is attractive with its sepia tones. The candle is quite long burning and even surprisingly so. It’s a little bit smaller than some other candles, but it seems to burn for a long time. The fragrance is also very satisfying. It’s not overpowering, but has a pleasantly sober quality that is excellent for accompanying various activities. One of the unique and quite satisfying touches is the cork lid with its weathered look.If you want an extremely powerful candle in terms of fragrance, this is not it. But if you’re looking for something that you can keep on and that provides some fragrance in this register, this one is a winner.

I am glad I wait to post reviews. If I had posted a review after the first few hour long burns I'd have given this 3 stars and said it was OK.Well now I am 3/4 down the candle and the smell is so much better. It is such a good, rich, non over whelming aroma. It is sweet but dark and musty all at once. If you have a man cave, a bedroom, or any room you want to smell like Burt Reynolds esque sophistication, buy this.From the design of the jar to the wood cap the aesthetic of the outside matches the complexity of the aromas within.Give it time. After the first few hours of burning I hardly noticed any aromas and was a little disappointed. But as you burn it more the candle opens up sexy and spice laiden scents.It can easily fill up a living room or bedroom and doesn't produce a lot of light. Definitely good for setting atmospheres and moods. I am very happy as are many of my houseguests.

Love the presentation with the cork lid and colored glass. The man I gave it to said it was a great masculine gift. I was glad about that but found it expensive and small.

I love the smell of this candle. Very true and the closes you will get to the old school tobacco pipe smell. I bought this for my husband's mancave, which is the only building people are allowed to smoke cigarettes in, and this eliminates that nicotine cigarette smell. People who are none smokers walk in can't even smell the cigarette smoke in the building.

This sounds like it would be a heavy, or very masculine scent - like going into a club house. But, it's not. It's very light, warm, and while not floral still gives off a sweet vibe.It's perfect for smaller spaces because it doesn't overwhelm the room, but makes it smell nice and inviting.The glass it comes in is also just about perfect. It has a neutral but still classic look that works for me.I have this on subscription because it's the best go to candle I've found that makes an entire house of people happy!

I am a true candle lover. I’ve purchased many candles of varying kinds over the years and I must say, these are an extraordinarily high quality burn. Absolutely superb. There is no smoking. The wicks have not needed trimming, and the flame is always strong, centered, and stable. It does not drown in the wax. Nor does it flicker, dance, or smoke due to variances in the wick or wax.However, the scent (although pleasant) is not true to the label, nor is it as strong as I would have liked or anticipated. It may work for a small room (such as a bath, small bedroom, or reading nook), but it certainly will not work if you’re attempting to scent a larger living area. That was a huge disappointment for me. With that said, if a more subtle scent is your preference, these would work perfectly for you. As some have said, there is a “vanilla” aroma, which is true in my opinion. I expected a muskier, woodier, more masculine scent that is true to its label. In all honesty, I don’t find that here. Having lived in Ireland for a semester, where the warmth of “whiskey and tobacco” bring wonderful memories of the land, people and culture, I really hoped this candle would deliver — but it did not. I would buy these again for small rooms, but I would reticently recommend them to others — with the understanding that they will not adequately perfume large areas.As for price point, they are smaller than most candles, making them pricey. But if quality is what you’re after, I would consider them reasonable, especially if you want a more subtle scent. I give three stars.In all, this is a high quality candle that gives a beautiful and stable burn. I applaud the company for its choice of unique scents and their rustic design. When burning, the amber glass is really beautiful! I absolutely love them in that regard. But a huge disappointment on the quality and strength of scent. They could do much better.An added note for those concerned with shipment: I received these in perfect condition wrapped thickly in brown packaging paper within layers of bubble wrap; pecisely as I would expect for any glass object or candle.

Candle had no scent to it at all. None.

I love the smell of this candle. It is a strong sense of nostalgia and takes me back to visiting my grandparents house when I was young.If you like the smell of pipes but don't like the smoke, this is a great candle.
