Love it
As a comic fan, I've been building a library for children with super heroes from picture books on up--and trying to find decent female centered ones is hard! I came across this, went through all the reviews, and being a Wonder Woman fan just had to try it. And I loved it. This is a well written girls' book--the author doesn't hit us with political or social agendas, just lets girls stays focused on what they should be focused on--finding their own selves and becoming the best people they can be.There are plenty of nods to the comic books, but this series is set as if it were a real school for heroes. Think Sky High or Professor X's school for the talented and gifted. I loved the way Diana is portrayed here--she is innocent and intelligent, compassionate and courageous, hungry to find her own place and anxious that she will mess up--very easy for girls to relate to. The plot was steady and had several twists, which made for a fun read. The characters felt like girls I went to school with--minus the super powers, of course--and Diana's struggle to make friends and navigate through school is exactly what every girl faces. As an adult, I loved it and will definitely pick up the rest of the series as it becomes available (Supergirl is next!)--and I would recommend any girl to this series, too. It's refreshing to have a new girls' series that SHOWS 'girl power' without the contrived adult garbage--and just shows girls choosing themselves to do what their hearts tell them is right.

wondr woman head of the class
a surprisingly good book. having seen an ad for book 2 coming out based of the toy line I was quick to get hold of book one to find out if it as good as it sound. If your a fan of silver age comics where neither heroes or villlans are as dark as today or books like EVER AFTER HIGH you will should check out this series, book one deals with Wonder woman in the outside world as a high schooler for the first time. It funny reading her reactions to the costoms outside Paradise Island and seeing those like Ivy and Harley trying to be good guys which was even good when she tried it once or twice in Batman the animated series or today Harley comics. I was a little sad that Supergirl who was in on line cartoons and toy line was not in the book but from what I understand she comes to Amanda Walker Super Hero High in book 2.

Mom Kat Reads
Wonder Woman has been dreaming about the chance to attend Super Hero High like so many other teenagers who have super powers do. After successfully convincing her mother to let her go, she discovers that being in high school with other super-powered teens isn’t always as easy or as fun as she had always assumed it would be. Her roommate, Harley Quinn has her mind set on creating her own media sensation by posting videos of the other students. While some of those videos do enhance the reputations of those featured, they are more often likely to feature them making mistakes and publicly embarrassing themselves. It also doesn’t help that someone clearly doesn’t want Wonder Woman to stick around. “Wondy” as she comes to be called by the other students, keeps finding anonymous notes left for her. While not outright threats, they do make it clear that someone wants her out of the school. Between worrying over who it is that dislikes her so much as to try to scare her off and trying to fit in with the other students, Wondy has her work cut out for her. This was a fun story meant for younger readers as well as those starting to read Young Adult novels. All of the expected DC comics characters, both those who will later become evil-doers as well as those who will one day be known as the greatest of superheroes are represented in this book. I found it to be very entertaining and quite amusing. I might not have been the target audience for this book, but I enjoyed this unique look at the comic book characters that I grew up reading about when I was young. I believe those who have also enjoyed reading those same comics as I did will also enjoy it.

Love the Concept
Got this for my daughter since she's really into superhero and women role models. We just started to reading it together. I had initially bought it for her to read on her own but it's a little to advanced for my eight-year old, 2nd grader so we are reading it together.
