The Best!
Top notch line. The ONLY line I trust as leader material while fishing for sockeye salmon. Tough as nails and has outperformed and outlasted every comparable line I’ve tried.

Great Stuff
I've been fishing 30 years now. Ive used just about every kind of leader and brand. Mono and fluorocarbon. Seaguar has multiple different types of leader / labels. I've used blue , gold , red , pink , premiere and few others. This has been the best leader I have used out of their line up ( orange label / sts ) Not only is it 100 yards but it's far cheaper then their other labels. $12 to $22 for the most part vs $50 to 60 vs blue label. Using this leader for a few solid years now This leader is a little stiffer then their other labels but I prefer that especially for inshore fishing where most the fish have teeth or Gill plates that can rough up a leader in no time. Especially snook. I recommend stop wasting your money with the other labels from seaguar and use this stuff. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great Leader Material For Salmon Fishing
I have used several brands and line tests of leader material over the years. Started out with Berkley Big Game Green 20 lb leader & mainline for cut-plug herring. I graduated to Maxima 30lb for both the mainline & leader the last few years mostly due to new fishing techniques and areas. 2023 I changed my salmon trolling methods. From hard to soft spinners, tighter drag settings and adjusting my troll speed from always slow (my herring speed) to fine tuning to current, troll direction and flasher action. Then I started to break off fish. No explanations. I was using the right clevises on the soft spinners and the line wasn't breaking there. Not breaking at the knots either. Just breaking. it was fresh line too. Could've been contact with the bottom or one of the myriad of other causes. Enough to make me look into other leader material. 2024 I changed over to using braid main line, 50lb blue Powerpro and changed my leader material to 50lb clear Berkley Big Game. The breakage still happened occasionally but now the we had more more fish shaking the hooks (barbless Big River & octopus). We had one day at Buoy 10 where we had 19 fish on with only one to the net (dang thing was a wild too!) I bought the Seaguar 50lb Clear because I bass fish quite a bit and that's all I use for all my rods (both spinning & casting, braid & Flouro). I bought the fluorocarbon because I wanted to see what less stretch would do for my hookup to land ratio. First thing I noticed was it was stiff line. Stiffer than mono in the 50lb test. I love that as it would whip my spinner or anchovy bait more from behind the 360 flasher than the mono. Second thing was that it is a smaller diameter it was easier to run line through the hook eye when you're in the middle of tying an egg loop knot (almost impossible to do with 50lb mono & 3/0 or smaller octopus hooks). And, with the line being a smaller diameter means less water resistance and adds more whip to the lure. We never had another leader break the rest of the year and the hook to net ratio went up. I tie my leaders during the off season so I've already got more spools and getting read for 2025.

Super strong and virtually invisible
Using 25lb as a leader for large rainbows and lahontan cuts. Running about 4 ft. of this, then attaching to mainline. It works great! It truly is virtually invisible in the water, and the trout were fooled , hammering the lures, evidently without any second guessing. the trout which were 20 to 24 inches were netted, with no line breaking. This stuff is super strong. I got snagged badly and I could not for the life of me pull it out. the line would just not snap. Ended up snipping the line with scissors. Oh well, with a 100 ft of this stuff I have plenty to tie my next leader. I highly recommend this line, to prevent our magnificent large STS from being wasted, left in the lake with a piss poor line and hook in their mouth. Wishing you many strikes, good luck out there!

Worth It For One True Thing
I posted a review of Seaguar's STS in a different product review area, for the lighter weights in which STS is offered. I'll summarize it here: I like this line. It's not more abrasion resistant as far as I can tell, and it's less abrasion resistant than Berkley PRO Spec fluorocarbon leader material, but sadly, Amazon is not offering PRO Spec. It is no more supple in cold water than other fluorocarbons. That's not bad, I just hoped it would be more pliable than others. It's hard to tell if it sinks faster than other fluorocarbons. Salmon and steelhead rigs are heavy in and of themselves, and sink mighty quickly regardless of the line I use. However, it ties knots better - more reliably - than any other fluorocarbon line I've tried, equal to Berkley's PRO Spec. I rarely see the stress/friction curly-cues that seem to be more common when tightening down a knot in a fluorocarbon line than they are with knots tied with nylon and copolymer lines. Reliable knots have always been the weak link with fluorocarbon lines. It seems to me that STS is a big leap forward for knot strength and knot reliability, and that makes STS worth every penny of the premium price. It's no more pliable when fished in frigid water. It hasn't demonstrated any better abrasion resistance than other premium fluorocarbons. It's definitely right up there matching the best characteristics of any retail fluorocarbon line available. But it ties great knots. I don't commit to fishing lines, but STS is one I'll keep using.

Great leader line at an affordable price
I use this line (STS Salmon Orange label) for ocean fishing tuna, yellowtail, Rockfish, Lingcod and everything else in the Pacific. It has always held up to EVERTHING and I have never had it fail on me. I caught a 115 pound Blue Fin Tuna last year with it! This is my go to leader line from now on. You will NOT find a better line for the money...PERIOD!!!

Great for Silver (coho) salmon leaders
We went fishing on Alaska near Ketchikan and trilled/mooched with herring. This leader was perfect. I tied a few double hook rigs with 3/0 and 4/0 hooks using a uniknot on the end hook and a snell knot on the upper hook.
