I like to jump headfirst into brand new hobbies so this was one of them. Aside from lighting things on fire, I've never woodburned before. I read a couple of tutorials and bought this. This is a great unit that works very well and can get very hot. I've used it to burn Box Elder wood, Maple, Mahogany, and various types of pine. Lots of different nibs that allow for a variety of ways to woodburn. You can do shading, fine lines, thick lines, dots, etc. I feel like with these types of projects, it's more about your gestures, your hands, your abilities, your focus and concentration rather than the best and most expensive piece of equipment. This one worked very nicely for me and I was able to create many woodburned Christmas ornaments for friends and family.

Very random purchase, price was right, quarentine, resulted to/thought "why not?" - worth every penny. Great for people just starting out like myself; I say "starting out" but to be completely honest, I don't see the need to get anything else besides another one of these and more tips. Works great 👍 they include a manual with tips and tricks to avoid breaking it which was very, very, helpful (again.. make sure to read the standalone paper that explains how to avoid breaking it). First attempt were the birds chillen on a stick and towards the end i got the feel for it a little and I tried the squirrel which im happy with but it has a rat face - YOU BE THE JUDGE. Long review short, my gf and I like it and are getting another (read the standalone paper they send with it, you'll understand why). Thank you TRUart!

When I first became interested in getting a wood burner I really did my research. After a couple of weeks of looking through reviews and blogs about them, I narrowed it down to two brands and types. My requirements were pretty basic: easy to use, long lasting, not too many problems, and an information guide. I wanted to do my review after I used the product, so its been a couple of weeks. After reading the instructions, I started playing with the different pieces and just practicing. I decided that overall, this is a great starting kit, but I will probably be using multiple tips throughout a project. The cool off time is decent, you do have to let the tip heat up a little in between the design. Having a pair of pliers is necessary just because after it heats up, you might want to tighten it just a little bit (not forcing it). I really enjoy using this tool and for the value, it holds up well as long as you don't abuse it. Just need a little practice and patience. I hope this helps others who are stuck trying to decide between the many units out there.

The Truart 15-30 Pyrography Pen is my 3rd try at getting a pen that works for me. I am very pleased with the Instruction Manual. The paper manual is extremely helpful and an excellent resource for safely using the pen, a guide to the different nibs, and a lesson on how to start a project. None of the kits I’ve tried- had that. The pen is sturdy and has a comfortable grip, and does not get hot when working. It feels like a better quality pen and the switch is on the handle which is excellent. The metal template for burning letters has been fun to try. I also appreciate the fact that there is a Website that sells parts and other accessories, and for Customer Support. I most definitely would recommend this pen for beginners-advanced.

I bought this wood burning kit as a Christmas gift and she asked me to show her how to use it. I'd never used one before but the instructions were clear, the parts well organized, and I got inspired. I scavenged some scrap plywood, plugged in the burner, and laid out a design using pencil. I'm pretty handy and familiar with using tools but I'm certainly no artist as the photos can attest to. But, I had so much fun the first night making the turtle design that I tried using the wood burner the next night and came up with the howling wolf and smiling dog. As of January 24, 2021 it's only been used twice so I can't speak to how long it will hold up. Judging by the materials and workmanship, I'd guess it will work fine for years to come. One word of advice, do not get impatient (like I did) and use a pair of pliers to unscrew the hot tip and replace it with another style tip just to keep wood burning. Let the hot tip cool down before removing the brass tip. Brass is a very soft metal so unscrewing a hot brass tip will cause some brass to come off the hot brass threads and build up on the barrel threads. After doing that a couple times, I was unable to install another brass tip. I ended up having to find a tap of the same thread size to chase the threads inside the barrel to remove the brass that had built up.

It came broken ..not good quality of the product

Haven’t been able to use the product at this stage, if selling to a different country then electrical advice on power supply should be prominent.

I bought this as it was being recommended on all the review sites. Tried using it and it stopped heating up after 5 mins of use. Got a replacement from the seller and the same thing happened. Very disappointing
