Lovely taste, melts in mouth....takes me back to happy times in Madrid
What can I say, fabulous hamon, I was a bit nervous buying it but it is excellent. I travel a lot to Madird on business and it tastes just the same, sliced thin and left in the kitchen it's beautiful, melts in the mouth and with some Manchego cheese.... its perfect, I'll be buying again once I get through this lot

Avoid
As a Spaniard, I can understand about ham quality, and I went for a medium priced/quality one for Christmas, something that was really exciting me as I usually dont splash out on such expensive luxuries... but oh the dissapointment. Not only for the high content of fat in it around and within, which makes it hard to pick the wee bits of meat in between, but also about half of it is tough and dry, unuseable not even for cooking. I wish I had paid the high price because at least it would be cheaper per gram of eatable meat compared with this. I really feel like they robbed me 80 pounds.

Great flavour, convenient size
Great classic iberico flavour. A little fat around the outside and marbling through the ham. Convenient size if you don't want to deal with a whole haunch. Not too salty!

Such a disappointment
Reading such nice reviews, I went for it. I can only think that it isn’t the same sort of product as those reviews because my chunk is disintegrating and it is basically lumps of flavourless fat, nothing like the Portuguese / Spanish iberico ham I grew up as I was living there.

Of course I'm biased because this are products from my country and spend more money because of the quality of the Iberico jamon .

Far too much fat - where is the Jamon???
Of course fat is needed - that is where a lot of the flavour comes from - but not in this quantity. There is almost as much fat as Jamon. Leaves a real fatty sticky residue on the top of the mouth. Will not be purchasing again unfortunately.

It's hard to slice this Spanish ham from this part , and the ham is not good at all !

Das 1kg Paleta Iberico de cebo Stück von Abeiou kam gut vakuum verpackt an und war geschmacklich exzellent. Der Schinken kam in einem Stück (1050gr auf der Küchenwage). war poliert und kam ohne Schwarte an und musste nur noch mit einem langen Schinkenmesser in dünne Scheiben portioniert werden. Ein ganzer Schinken ist da schon aufwendiger zu bearbeiten und muss entsprechend mit Geschick bearbeitet und von der Schwarte befreit werden. Und nicht jeder hat genug Gäste oder Hunger um mehrere Kilo Fleisch zu verputzen. Der Schinken war wie bereits erwähnt herrlich, nicht zu salzig, dafür jedoch, so wie es sich für einen Jamon Iberico gehört, lange gereift (tiefrotes Fleisch) und weist im Vergleich zum güntigen Serrano auch eine deutlich höhere Fettschicht auf, die den Schinken durch die lange Reifung vor Austrocknung schützt und den Geschmack verstärkt. Durch die lange Reifung bildet der Schinken eine charakteristische Edelschimmelschicht, wie man es bei einer guten Salami kennt - Beides, der hohe Fettgehalt und die Schimmelschicht sind Qualitätsmerkmale. Ich war sehr zufrieden mit dem Schinken und werde mir sicher in der Zukunft wieder einen Schinken von diesem Hersteller bestellen. Schinken ist ein Naturprodukt, daher kann es beim Online-Versand auch immer mal wieder zu Überraschungen kommen - ich war von der Qualität positiv überrascht.
