This is such a great litter mat! Have had it a couple years. Between my own cats and foster cats, this mat has been used and abused by approximately 13 cats over the years. Still in perfect condition!You can and should vacuum this mat as often as possible. Never an issue even with daily vacuuming sessions.Usually once a month I will take it outside and bang it clean and allow it to sit out in the sun to air out and disinfect. I do spray it down every couple of months with a disinfectant. Then, let dry before using again.I was forced to wash it as one of the dogs puked on it and I couldn’t get it clean. It washed up perfectly. No issues at all. I laid on railing outside to let it throughly dry.I set out the litter box with no mat and then with this one to compare. Of course there was a lot of litter right in front of the box as well as tracked around with no mat. With this mat, it catches all the litter between the holes. I lift up the top layer, sweep the litter with my small broom, and then toss it back in the box - instead of trying to fold the mat and pour it back in. I did notice some tracking around the area, but I can't imagine a mat that catches absolutely everything. I don't really notice any litter in other rooms, so that's great as well.Also note that this mat is thicker than most, so it's best to have the litter box all the way on the mat or not at all, otherwise the box will be a bit wobbly.

We've had this mat for almost 2 years now and it's worked incredibly well at capturing our cats litter. It's also incredibly easy to clean, can easily be shaken out or vacuumed and then hosed down in the shower our outside. My only hesitation, do not let you cat pee on this. About twice a year, usually right before we take a trip and our cat gets stressed, he will pee outside his litter box and after getting this mat, it meant that was where we would pee. And while you can easily hose it down and get the pee out, you will never actually eliminate the smell entirely. The pad that helps it be nonstick underneath seems to absorb the smell and after trying some pee sprays in an attempt to remove it I couldn't get it to budge. And after the third time that he peed on it, I had to admit defeat and throw it out as the smell was only intensifying and I was concerned he may start peeing on it more often. Overall, excellent mat for what it is intended! Just beware of your cat if he ever has accidents outside his box!

This pad really knocks a lot of the litter off their paws. I have two cats and use this in front of their automatic litter box. It has greatly reduced the stray litter that tracks on their paws. Worth it

This litter mat is great! Our cat likes this mat so much that this is the 2nd one we ordered. I liked the idea of having 2 so I can rotate them. The mat is very soft for the cats paws, and it does a great job of trapping the cat litter. When it first arrived it did have a plastic odor smell (doesn't smell that much), but it dissipates very quickly (smell was gone in about an hour or so; the 1st mat we had it was gone in 30 minutes). The colors are great, and the quality and price are fantastic. I've vacuumed the 1st mat a vast amount and it is still in excellent condition. We have a large cat litter box for our cat (she's old so it's easier for her) and this mat is large enough for her to have plenty of room to step out of the box (and wipe her paws. It also is large enough just in case she has an accident). I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and have told people who are looking for litter mats to buy this one. I purchased this is on Prime Day and got an excellent deal, but at its regular price of $16 it is still an amazing deal!!!

This mat is wonderful for placing under the litter box. Although I would like that it also came in a larger size. Highly recommend.

I will be purchasing a new mat! First, the litter gets stuck in the little wirey pattern. It's meant to catch the litter but impossible to clean. I shook it, vacuumed and hosed the mat down and pieces of litter are still stuck in it. Our cats sometimes miss the box and pee down the side. I still cannot get all the pee soaked litter out of the mat. I'm not very happy with this product especially for the price. I'll be replacing it with one my coworker uses and loves.Update: Without asking, the seller contacted us to issue a refund. They truly do stand by their money back guarantee. She also asked what kind of litter we use so they can test the mat with the same kind. That shows me they do care about the quality of their products and customer satisfaction. I added a star for their customer service.

I love my new Pawkin Litter Mat! I've tried other mats that allege to prevent litter tracking, to no avail. Pawkin's Mat really does work. If I step on it, the mat feels soft and I don't get litter on my socks. The size, larger than most litter mats, means that my cat walks further before leaving the mat, thereby shedding more litter from her paws. I've vacuumed it with a hose attachment on a fairly low setting and the litter comes out without damaging the mat. I appreciate that the Pawkin mat is phthalate free, as animal studies have revealed that phthalates can can damage the liver, kidneys, lungs, and reproductive system — particularly the developing testes. (I didn't even know what a phthalate was until reading the description of Pawkin's litter mat!)While this mat was a little more expensive that what I've paid for litter mats in the past, it's definitely worth it and will clearly last a long time.

I bought two of these mats to go under cat litter trays, however I think the strong smell may have put my cat off. I am letting them air out and may try again, otherwise I will use them as door mats as they are very sturdy and I think will do the job well.
