Performs great, even for a first timer.
So far so good. Just used it once to paint a wood table and chairs with latex enamel paint. I thinned it per instructions but in reality, should of gone slightly more. Being the first attempt, It took a while to get the pressure/volume adjusted but by the final coat, everything was flowing fine. As others have said, a larger tip size would probably work better for the projects I'll use it for. I'm looking forward to using it more and getting a better feel for it. Cleaned up easily and seem very well built. Time will tell.

Very Disappointed- The Nut Holding the Cup to the Gun Body Disintegrated During First Assembly
i have been using a $37 Harbor Freight touch-up gun with no issues but needed another touch-up gun with a larger cup for bigger projects. Bought this gun for doing dirty work while saving my DeVilbiss strictly for color/clear coats. When i tightened the nut the holds the cup to the body the nut disintegrated. i know what you're thinking, this guy's a gorilla and cranked it on there too tight. Well, in my defense i spent 25+ years working on multi-million dollar semiconductor and ion beam lab equipment, so i'm not a complete newbie. Be very mindful of that part if you buy this gun.

Perfect SCFM Combination
If this gun really is made to be used for lower SCFM units, then then they did a good job. Very few people have the big CFM compressors to effectively drive an HVLP gun. This gun works well on my 6.8 SCFM nail compressor at 60lbs.Higher CFM works better and and some HVLP guns won't work well in the 6 CFM range, but this one does OK.Only stains and finish at this CFM, and paint would require a more powerful compressor. This gun is well built, and has a nice stainless steel tip. An excellent piece of equipment for the price.

So so
Is this a good value for a HVLP gun? Paint formulas these days are the result of Govt. mandates . Even my very old siphon spray gun doesn't lay down a automotive finish like it did. So I'm trying various HVLP guns since that what the world is coming to. All the ones so far I bought are terrible. I keep moving up scale in price. Next will be a $150 gun. They el cheapo's just don't lay down a good enough finish for me. I debated whether to buy the Campbell 7800 for $49.00 or the 7900 for $57.00. I choose the more expensive one. NG for what I need. OK for rough primers that can be sanded out but not for finish. Read the label on all oil based paints. Some suppliers are now using Acetone. That stuff is paint remover not paint thinner. Very flammable, highly volatile and toxic. In my State you can still buy paint that uses the old paint thinner. I wrecked a new project by trying to use Acetone paint. The siphon guns are still for sale and very cheap. Super hard to clean however. The HVLP guns are super easy. I use though away cups that eliminates cleaning.================================================================================================================================ Edit and change of opinion . I gave a harsh review of the gun but have changed my mind a bit. The new paint enamels are all over the place. Some can be sprayed ,some can't!! Maybe the enamel I tried to spray would work with a better gun but I don't know. I found a enamel that sprays great with this gun and I can thin with cheap paint thinner. This gun works as good or better then my old siphon gun now and is a lot easier to clean. So when you buy a HVLP you will have to figure out what paint will work with it. None of the sales people in the paint stores could help me. They said the formulas are changed all the time and they are not informed. So what works today may not work tomorrow. A really good(expensive) gun has a change of needles, a paint feed control knob, an on board pressure regulator etc. One gun I just looked at has 16 air holes. This gun has 10. I would recommend this gun as good enough for most people if you can find a paint it likes. It's a whole new ball game in painting and the learning curve is very steep and expensive.

Worked well for me.
I bought this for spraying model airplanes with a thinned latex paint. All went well with it and the sprayer was easy to clean.

Great gun for the price
This small gun is one of the best guns I have used. For small to mediums projects it is great, Just clean it and it will last a long time

factory over tightened, parts rusted after first use
I bought this brand's gun because I thought it would be less likely to be factory over tightened. But it is over tightened and can't be taken apart to be cleaned. They really need to start shipping these guns unassembled. If leakage is a concern, the customer can just use plumber's tape. I haven't used this yet and am going to return it because it's not suitable for my needs. It's made of cheap steel instead of brass or stainless as these products should be. It rusted after the first use.Update: customer service was very helpful and are sending a replacement part. Hopefully the replacement doesn't have the same issue.Update: the nozzle on the replacement can be disassembled! Point there. However the seal where the needle meets the trigger on the back of the replacement gun leaks tremendously so the gun is useless. Points lost.

Broke the trigger first use
I had bought of these about 20 years ago when it was a better quality gun but a lot more expensive. MY old one had cracked seals and didn't work that great anymore so I figured I couldn't go wrong for under $30 now. When I got it I could clearly see why it was cheaper. It was made in China and wasn't as "durable" I would say as the original. I mixed my paint tested it out, on a piece of cardboard and it laid out a nice beautiful pattern. I got it adjusted and started painting my tractor and about 2 minutes later the trigger fails off because the bolts had been overtightened on the hinge and it broke. I had already mixed my paint so i couldn't stop. I found a nail and stuck in through the trigger to hold it on and finished painting. I called Campbell Hausefeld, sent them the reciept and they said they would send me some new bolts. I haven't gotten them yet and that was 2 weeks ago so I am glad I didn't need them in a hurry. You get what you pay for. I would have gladly paid $60-80 for the quality of the original instead of this turd. We will see if it lasts beyond the 2nd use.

Don't let the brand name fool you
Despite these being under the Campbell Hausfeld brand, they're just another Chinese made peice of junk.Low quality cast, the aluminum cup has the density of cheese, the cup retainer doesn't tighten enough to hold the cup on or stop it from leaking. There's locktite on the wrong thread and no locktite where there should be - abbysmal quality.I've been trying find this style of gun to replace several of my old Sealey branded version of this gun ( which lasted over 25 years) but it seems impossible now to find anything of any real quality........ I doubt these CH branded guns will last 25 days........ a total waste of money.

Cheaply made, the paint canister at least
While the gun felt heavy and sturdy, and sprays nicely, the cup that holds the paint is not very well made. I tried to untwist the air compressor coupling off the gun, and instead the can somehow got snapped off!!! It’s only the second time I used the spray gun, and apparently it’s hard to find a replacement or it’ll cost almost as much as the whole set if not more!!!
