Yes it does. They have given mode button to change it.

Q: the thermometer is not working. Initially after fixing batteries it worked. How to switch on again?

Just need to press trigger and it will automatically turned on. It has very short time auto power off so no need to worry about how you will turn it off. My suggestion is if you are not using for long time then remove battery.
