The brutality of Metallica only begins when you listen to the albums. The real pain comes trying to capture lightning and play it as they do. This book seemed like a helpful tool to learn the jams from my favorite lp from them. It showed up and quickly started destroying my patience. There's no way! What do those symbols mean?How does he do THAT? I only have 5 fingers, man. This guitar sucks. Hmm, maybe if I...alright, that kinda sounds alright. Next bar.

My son has been collecting music books for awhile and he picked this one out and loved it.

I’ve been playing guitar since I was a kid, and Metallica since I was a teenager. Somehow, I had never gotten around to picking up the tab book for Ride the Lightning although I’d had all of the other early Metallica albums. I decided to complete my collection and I’m glad I did - man, this brought back memories. Like all of the “Play it like it is” tablature books, this includes detailed tab for every track on Ride the Lightning, especially the solos. If you can read music fluently, you can follow the rhythm along with the corresponding notes above the tab, but I personally have to listen to the track a few times before I can really get the hang of it.

Had most of the songs, and even included a few paragraphs about the band and how to understand chords (basically an index,) and included some nice pictures of them.

I started playing in a Metallica tribute band, and needed to learn 40 Metallica songs FAST!! I did not have time to learn it all by ear ,including the solo's, so I splurged and bought almost every Cherry Lane, "play it like it is" Metallica book out there. This company has been releasing these books for over 20 years and the transcriptions are always 98-100% spot on!!!! You will never be disappointing or playing the wrong notes from the songs this company transcribes. They also transcribe for most of the monthly guitar magazine publications in the world, so that should speak for itself!

Pretty accurate. Some parts are easier to play on different stings than what the tab shows, but that goes for most tab books.

These books were in mint condition when I received them, I was VERY surprised! I expected them to be used since the material is 30 years old! I am very pleased! I also ordered the Master of Puppets booooook-Ahhhh! lol....(I copied and pasted this, too little time on my hands!)
