Excellent Product!
I am rating this device after just one use but my initial impressions are all positive The ratcheting device appears to be of very sound construction and certainly performed as described. I used it to straighten a small tree that had become partially uprooted in Hurricane Milton. The mechanical advantage produced by this device made what could have been a difficult task quite easy. I would highly recommend this rope ratcheting device.

So good, everyone keeps stealing these from me!
I’ve been using rope ratchets for 30 years! They are the best tie down I’ve ever used! In fact they are so good that everyone who uses mine likes them so much I never get them back. This is about the 10th one I’ve bought! Now I do have to admit, they haven’t all been stolen from me. Some people “lost” them. Others borrowed and never gave them back, and some people offered to buy them from me. Whenever I have been without, I’ve tried other ratchet ties, but I always come back to rope ratchets. The thing that first drew me to them is that if you ever need a longer rope, you can easily swap out the one that comes with it for pretty much any rope laying around the house. Not as many people have webbing just laying around the house, like the other ratchet ties use. Now some will say you can’t crank down on rope ratchets to get them as tight as the other ratchet ties. That may be true, but with just using my muscles and tightening any slack in the rope I’ve never had a problem loosing a load. I can’t say the same from the other ratchet ties where the webbing has slipped out, if it’s not put in correctly, endangering not only the load but everyone’s safety as well. Ratchet ties have also jammed on me and locked up, and more often than not just frustrate me. But not the rope ratchet. It’s easy and dependable every time. Rope ratchets come in different sizes and load bearing capacities. This one is for heavier duty loads. Because of that it’s bigger and bulkier than some of the other rope ratchet sizes. If you don’t need all that go without the next size down that has blue rope. I actually use that type more, but this green one is definitely tough and dependable. I’d recommend this to everyone. I don’t even have a truck anymore, but I still come up with lots of reasons to use rope ratchets, like quickly tying up piles of branches from my orchard to drag away

Pleasantly surprised
These work like a charm. As someone who deals with conventional ratchet straps daily I was blown away by the simplicity of the unit. These work simple as that.

Works
This will be handy to lift with into the garage and deer into the lifted truck bed. It does not have the mechanical advantage of a tackle block, but it does lock as you pull and make progress on the work. Seems well made.

Ratchet seems strong
Didn’t like the way the release worked. Had to push up on it instead of pulling down. Hard to reach from the floor. Used a x country ski pole to release it.

Just the thing for irregular loads--way better than ratchet straps
I have perhaps 6 sets of ratchet straps. They work fine for many uses. But on irregular loads like brush or branches, the flat straps bend, go into the ratchet, and the whole device siezes up.This is where a rope ratchet like this is ideal. Just pull the rope to tighten and you're done. Like it so much I am ordering another today.Edit: About the only thing I wish is that I could easily replace the hook with a heavy carabiner. The hook seems to be attached with a rivet, so removal would be a challenge. But still very happy!

Reliable
I have purchased 8+ of various products from Rope Ratchet and have been using for10+ years without failures. They are easy to use and quick to secure and in my case secured a number of TV’s and much more that has found its way into the back of my trucks. As always, pay attention to the weight restrictions of the devices and for heavier loads I use different straps to secure loads to trailers.

Made my life easier!!!
This thing sure made my life easier! I camp and trail ride a lot, there are places where you can't use your electric correl and we were using the old fashioned way of putting up a tie line for the horses.....what a pain in the butt!!!! Saw a lady pull in and have hers up in 3 mins. or less! Ran over to see how she did it! Why didn't I think of that!!! Geesh! This thing is the bomb! Purchased 2 tree saver straps and 100 foot of yacht rope to go with it, works like a charm! Love this thing! Eventually the rope gets a little loose from the horse pulling on it, no problem, just go pull out the slack! I couldn't be happier! It's well made and easy to use. Matter of fact, I have a few friends getting ready to purchase a few of these. Definitely recommend.
