An excellent, lightweight allrounder with decent performance
I have had this laptop for over a year now and it has proved to be exceptionally reliable, offering decent performance for the specification and excellent battery life. The display is very sharp and clear meaning I can use this for long periods without experiencing any eye strain. It is sturdily built, but light enough that you can hold it with one hand while operating it with the other. And very important for me is that the laptop is silent and does not have any noisy fans constantly in operation. This was my main requirement when buying this laptop. Mine came with the activation code for 12 months subscription to Microsoft Office 365 which has been very useful. I have not had any issues with this laptop and it has always been able to deal with any tasks I have asked of it and for this reason I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a well built, reliable entry level laptop by a reputable brand.

Good buy!
This lap top is a very good buy at a good price, and also very light weight at 1.3 kilo. It runs on Windows 10 S with a 12 hour lifetime on the battery before you have to charge it again. The only back draw I can think of is that you can only use Microsoft approved products from the Microsoft Store for this lap top. This is because the Windows 10 S mode is a Windows product, and just like Apple, they safeguard their own products so that you are limited, for security reasons, to only using Microsoft approved products. However, it’s very easy to disable the S mode so that you can choose whatever Windows compatible software you want to install – should you wish to do that. You just need to Google it and follow the instructions. But if you don't mind using the Microsoft Edge Browser instead of what you are used to (Chrome, Firefox etc) it's great! I don't mind changing my behaviour in this respect as I am just not not interested in paying £200 more for another lap top just to get another browser.

Good battery life, perfectly fine albeit with Windows 10 S mode.
This was a quick purchase for my son's home learning. It's absolutely fine, no problems and great battery life. At the time I bought it, the cost was just under three hundred pounds which would be the most I would pay for a laptop running Windows 10 S mode. I would recommend getting this version, with Intel Pentium N5030 which really does run well with no lag. I understand the alternative version with AMD chip may more sluggish. Be aware Windows 10 S mode only allows you to install apps from the Microsoft Store so you cannot install e.g. Chrome browser, Zoom app, and although it is possible to leave 'S mode' and go to full Windows 10, I haven't done this yet because it's a one-way change with no way back, and there may be a trade off in boot time and battery life. The sound is good, the screen is good, and the battery life is great. Can easily do 2-3 days school work on one charge. Overall I'm happy with it and so is my son.

Brilliant entry level laptop but choose the correct specs
Brilliant entry level laptop. A word of advice though, this laptop is what it is, a basic pc, and is brilliant at doing what it is designed to do with the right specs (I prefer the pentium over the other available processors). It will let you browse internet, stream films, use the pack office and video call without problem. It is not designed for film/photo editing, video gaming and other tasks highly demanding on power. So, if you're a student looking for a laptop to write assessments or are someone wanting a simple laptop for your emails, you can't beat the price and quality of the Asus. 2 things to make your experience better. Microsoft edge is great (based on Chrome) but if you prefer the original Chrome make sure you optimise it in order to reduce the load on your memory and processor (easy to find online). Also, the amount of hard drive available is not big because of Windows using most of it, I suggest to invest on a sd card that if left mounted on the laptop and used as extra hard drive space. Screen is good, battery life excellent, but the webcam is just average. It comes with Windows 10S. It's a full Windows with the difference that you can only install software from the Microsoft store. If you don't want that it is easy to revert to regular Windows and install software from anywhere but it is a one way road and you can't come back. There's no Wong and right just a personal choice.

Basic laptop, could get better
Impressed first time after the installation the laptop system says processor 1.10GHz on the advert 3GHz, plug in the battery then mouse difficult moves, struggle, I never had that kind experience before ones battery plug in charging then using mouse makes difficulty, I had ASU’s laptop before the mouse never struggle one’s battery in charge! The sound system with the headphone confusion!

Great Value for Money
I bought this for schoolwork during lockdown and my 8 year old daughter is delighted. It does everything she needs it to do, is quick and light enough for her to pick up and carrry around. It has had a couple of small knocks and this has not affected its performance, so I'm happy!

Lockdown purchase for school work, does the job!
Affordable laptop for school classes during lockdown. Arrived promptly and setup was easy. Used by an 8 year old for Zoom classes and such. Has been great. Camera quality good, touchpad is fine. It has numbers on which we disengaged (thank you google for showing us how). We did buy a mouse as we found she still struggled a bit with the pad not having a clicker. But thats a personal preference. Would definitely buy again.
