Great starter set and value for the money
Great started set with both a warm and cool of the main colors that can help with mixing and creating a great variety of colors. I bought it as my starter set after using other brands and it just takes the art to a new level, mixes well with other colors and the paints have a great thickness and opacity. Great value for the money. You will be able to create several paintings with this set.

Amazing.
They're on your syllabus for a reason kiddos! These are so... SO expensive, but truly the quality is phenomenal. Any and all cheap alternatives that might tempt you truly aren't worth the time or money. Windsor Newton has high quality, smooth, pure colors that blend well with each other. I know it's tough on college money, but it's truly worth it to just get these the first time instead of trying to cheap out and regretting it later when I figure out why these are the best a few hours before critiques.

Great price for the 10 Tube Introductory Set - Paint was Fresh in excellent condition
The 10 tube Introductory set was in excellent condition. Price of $25.95 was a real steal for this high quality, artist grade gouache. DId NOT have any issues with the tubes. Paint appears quite fresh. As noted by some other reviewers the red tubes did appear to be slightly runny when first opened. That happens sometimes with tube paint but it isn't fatal. None of the tubes spurted paint out. None of the tubes were dried up. The paint was fresh, mixed cleanly and painted beautifully. Delighted! Update: Some people complained that the W&N Designers Gouache did not re-wet well. So I tested it. Left the gouache in a porcelain mixing palette for 5 days to test the re-wetability of this gouache. Took an eye dropper and dropped clean distilled water on the dried gouache. Came back about 5-10 minutes later and had no trouble stirring the paint and painting with it! Colors still look super pigmented and really pop! More than delighted now! Some do say that putting 4 drops of glycerin per half pan mixed with the gouache will help it re-wet more easily. I haven't tried that, yet.

Silky and Smooth
What a wonderful gouache to work with! Better than their student grade which isn’t bad to work with either. A slight issue with binder Sheraton but that’s to be expected. Overall a dream to work with!

White paint dried out
The paints are great to use - high quality and beautiful hues, but the white paint was dried out and difficult to thin, even with water mixed in.

Very opaque!
So, little disclaimer here, I'm new to gouache. (Literally started using it five days ago.) I previously bought and have been using Reeves gouache to play with until these arrived since they were cheap AND on sale. There are HUGE, noticable differences between the two. Yet I love them both. Man oh man, I thought the Reeves was bright, these outshine them 100%! Pros: -They're very opaque, and cover well. Even light over dark. -They dry fast. -They mix well. -They are chocked full of pigment. -They don't lift off each time you try to add another layer (*cough cough* Looking at you, Reeves.) Cons: - The white loves picking up the other colours if they're still slightly wet. -They have an odd smell. Especially the green. -They will stain plastic pallettes, I advise a ceramic plate or pallette instead just to be safe. Y'know, unless you don't care if it stains it then don't worry about this flaw! -Maybe this one is my brushes, but I used different types and got the same result. The paint just loves staying in the brushes! Make sure to dab them off on a tissue just to make sure all pigment is out before switching colours. I did not however have this problem with my water brushes. (Niji and Pentel.) That's about it, honestly these paints have already made a huge impact on my life and I just got them today, lol. I hope you all take the plunge and buy these! They're worth it. Woooorth it! (Though if you can't afford them, definitely buy Reeves, they're not as bad as people make them out to be, you just can't go as heavy with them, you gave to use them more like a watercolour.)

I experimented with cheap gouache to practice and loved the properties of the medium (opaque to layer easily ...
I've had these for a year now and have used them on several projects with much success. I experimented with cheap gouache to practice and loved the properties of the medium (opaque to layer easily from light to dark and back again, ability to cover mistakes and easily rework areas, and the ability to go back with white gouache to add highlights). They are much like watercolors but much more forgiving. The cheaper gouache, although came with more color range, was very chalky, difficult to blend, and it was extremely difficult to get a uniform wash of color over large areas. I have not experienced any of those negative qualities with the Winsor and Newton Gouache and have merely enjoyed using them. They are very smooth to work with, lay down smoothly, blend and layer well, and are not chalky at all. This primary set comes with all the colors necessary and with practice, patience, and maybe some help from the internet you can even achieve flesh and earth tones. Highly recommended.

Vale cada centavo! Deus...

The colors are perfect but each time I order a new one it keeps getting expensive. NO WAY IM GONNA PAY 200 FOR THIS ITS NOT EVEN WORTH THE QUANTITY

This brand of gouache is worth investing if you want to achieve high quality work. The texture is creamy and smooth and if the right consistency is used, produces a smooth seamless opaque look. I would highly recommend although it is quite pricey! Better to invest in a higher quality set than to buy multiple student grade ones that have lower pigment load and poor quality coverage, unless you are starting out with gouache and not sure if you would like using this medium and don't want to spend to much.
