Much better than I expected!
I was hesitant to buy this rack, it had no reviews and i couldn’t find any info about it online. However am very pleasantly surprised by the quality and the functionality. It is very strong thick gauge aluminum and the welds are very well done. It assembles easy, however the instructions are not very clear in regards to which screws and bolts are used for which part. It easy enough to figure out though. I installed it on a 2021 Chevy Silverado. It looks great! For the price and quality, I am very glad that I got this rack. It also arrived a day sooner than expected, showed up in 4 days when it was stated that it could take between 5 and 15 days to arrive.

Good quality poor instructions
I almost didn’t buy this but glad I did. Well I will start with the build. Each piece is very solid good quality aluminum. All hardware and screws are high quality. Very good design with one exception. To be able to raise or lower it requires the loosening of at least 10 screws per upright. That is quite a task just to adjust. I highly suggest just setting to a height you will get the most out of it a leaving it. Also make sure you don’t take both screws out of each bracket at the same time. If you do you will have to disassemble the entire upright to get the hold bracket out. Install was about 7 out of 10 but I gave only two stars for install. That’s because the instructions are useless. I had to figure out where each screw went individually which took most of the time for assembly. Also attaching to the vehicle was a pain with out good instructions because you have to do things in a certain order. The first upright was learning what that order is. All together with figuring out what screw last went where and installing took about 4 hours. If you are not even slightly mechanically inclined do not buy this. It is sad the instructions were not better because it would be a hot seller.

Tacoma = longer bolts needed
Very sturdy. Instructions are worthless. Tips... double stick tape the rubber pad to the underside of the mounting bracket. Get longer bolts for the mounting system for a Tacoma.I added a nut under the mounting bracket to lock the longer bolts in place. Then used outside part of the provided clamps with a t slot nut for the rails in the truck bed. Fits well.Note that the rack will seem flimsy until all parts are installed. It works as a complete unit.

Very bad instructions, poor quality
It’s well known by now this product comes with very bad instructions, I just had to figure it out. Two of the adjustable towers did not move freely I had to use a rubber mallot to move them while the other two moved more freely. The bolts that you have to loosen to adjust the arms come out upon driving, I almost lost my rod vault because 3 bolts came completely out and multiple others were nearly almost completely out. I got the towers at the height I wanted then put locktite on EVERY BOLT. Very important put locktite on the bolts because if you don’t this thing is very dangerous on the road otherwise in my opinion. The only thing I like about this is the look on my truck, however I wish I would have spend a few more hundred and got something else. I would never buy this product again. I’ll keep this rack on my truck for the meantime and for sure getting something else because this rack is stressful between wondering if it’s going to fall apart while driving or having to adjust the towers.

My oh my the multitude of parts!
Sturdy once assembled, yes. The money saved ends up costing you time in assembly. Lots of small hardware and plenty left over! Any adjustments in the height required realignment of the uprights and hardware. The uprights and cross bars don't offer a lot of space between so that's kind of a bummer. I made the mistake of unloosing bolt from their braces and the braces fell INTO the uprights! Took a while to get them out and required some creativity with zip ties. I do not look forward to adjusting distance or height in them. Too much work.

Good luck
8/24/2022 - 1 year review. Going back to 2 stars because it's remained functional but I would still go with a mainstream brand with a warranty and better support and quality control if I was going to get one again. All of my other criticism of this rack in previous updates remains.I've now had this on for about 12,000 miles and about 6,000 miles of that is with a 190lb hard shell tent on it.Once you get it on it is functional, just changing anything on it is a massive pain. I need to raise mine again so I can carry my kayaks on it and I have severe anxiety just thinking about having to adjust this thing again...Have also spent many nights camping on this rack with what I'm guessing is probably a total of around 700 lbs of people and gear on it. No problem holding the tent and people with this much weight, obviously don't try to drive with it so loaded.Still the biggest concerns are the t-track bolts, which are too short and total garbage. I found a solution for mine and that's to get some good quality elevator bolts, and using a bench or angle grinder on opposing sides, make t bolts out of them. Unfortunately my specific tonneau has really thin tracks so finding off the shelf bolts that are better than what this came with is impossible. If you have a tonneau with larger tracks there are a bunch available though. I found some grade 8 steel elevator bolts and spent several hours grinding them so they fit in the tracks, but pretty much bomber at this point. I think the entire tonneau will rip off the bed before this tears out of the cover.12/21/2021 Updating, have put a few thousand miles and a bunch of use on this and again this review is with the tonneau installation in mind.Major quality issues with the mounting system and the design in general. The nuts that fit into the t-tracks on a tonneau are extremely poor quality, they are all rounded off and no longer usable, it's literally impossible to tighten this because they spin. They are made from some really soft iron or low quality steel, there's no way they should be able to round off in an aluminum track after tightening them down only 1 time. As stated in my original review, they're too short, but they're also really low quality material. I'm trying to figure out a replacement, I just can't trust these are going to actually hold it on the bed.Secondly, the pillars aren't water tight, upon loosening the bases on mine, they were completely full of water, drained like a gallon out of each pillar. The rubber seal at the bottom locked it in there.Adjusting is virtually impossible as well, once this thing is on there at the height you want, it's a crazy amount of work to change the height. You have to remove the crossbars entirely, then loosen a minimum of 8 bolts per pair, if you over loosen and lose one of the retaining nuts, it's virtually impossible to get it back because it slides to the bottom of the tower. A super strong magnet is your best shot, otherwise you need to remove the tower. But, the clearances are sloppy and in one of mine, the measurement gauge was bent and prevented the tower from moving down at all. They're metal so you can't just force it down. Beyond that I have to use a rubber mallet to get any movement on a tower even with the bolts as loose as they get.The lack of lock washers on the bolts that were installed from the factory makes them prone to self-loosening when using this. I cranked everything down after I initially lost 2 of them, and then lost another 2 at some point a few weeks later. If you get this in a position you like, I recommend some loctite on them.I would not purchase this rack again, spend the extra money and get one from a brand that has quality control and the ability to get replacement parts for it.Original:I unfortunately, and to the benefit of the manufacturer, do not have the vocabulary to describe how awful it is to install this product, but I'd take my chances at Dante's 8th or 9th level of hell before considering installing one of these again. The instructions are irrelevant, there are literally no words to describe how much of a pain it is to install this in t tracks on a tonneau bed cover, maybe direct installation is easier. First off, missing bolts, washer, and nuts, on almost every piece, many of the bolts are far too short, ones that were pre-installed in the horizontal rails for example have fallen out on the first 5 miles of driving, I guess I should have checked them..., but the sliding threading back plates are impossible to reposition after a bolt falls out. It looks good, it should be weight bearing if you ever get it actually attached, but I wouldn't wish this product on an enemy. I only bought this because Yakima apparently stopped making their version of this rack, I do not recommend it if you are trying to install it in T tracks. I have a frontier, with a pace gary tonneau, maybe some tonneau's for other trucks are easier, but it is damn near impossible to actually install this on my truck. I would prefer to and could build an entire house including milling the lumber, before deliberately installing this thing again. You are awarded no points and may god have mercy on your soul!
