The Paper Mate 0.5mm Clearpoint Mechanical Pencil is a high-quality and comfortable pencil to use compared to many other mechanical pencils I have used in the past.This mechanical pencil stands out to other pencils out there because of its convenient, comfortable, and clean build.Writing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ :There are two versions of this mechanical pencil, the 0.5mm and the 0.7mm that can be purchased. This product is a review of the 0.5 mm lead. The two lead variations are different, though one is subjectively not better than the other. It is up personal preference on what is more comfortable and effective to write with. In my opinion, I use 0.5mm because it is much thinner and precise to write with, though it can break easily with high pressure. I had tried 0.7mm, which I recommend for people who prefer a bolder and a somewhat thicker line. Both are still good to write with and produce smooth, clean lines.Quality⭐⭐⭐⭐ [-]:The clearness of the pencil gives a clean look, and is also useful to check for the amount of lead lead left in the pencil, as well the wear of the eraser. The lead is durable hence "break-resistant", but of course it is not 100% strong and may break with higher pressure in writing. The downside of the grip is that it is rubber and thin, which may wear down and peel off overtime (few months), but that is because I use this to write daily.Features and Extras ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:Like mentioned previously, the clear pencil gives a clean look, which also allows the view of the lead compartment inside the pencil. The twistable eraser is one significant feature for this pencil as many other pencils sold dont have this. The eraser can easily be retracted when not in use, which prevents it from getting weared down and dirty. To refill, just pull the twistable mechanism, which allows you to put lead in the opening of the lead compartment.The product comes with two of the mechanical pencils, two extra eraser (are effective in erasing and last greatly), and extra lead, which is worth to buy if you want to invest in a high-quality, comfortable, and effective mechanical pencil.To conclude, this mechanical pencil (two included) is worth the price for even just the pencils itself. The erasers and extra lead are very helpful to have. I'd say this is the best mechanical pencil I've come across for its price and quality that I have used, especially the 0.5mm variation. These are my new everyday pencils that I use for college. They are very reliable and the grip feels great. Great feature is the led shock absorption to avoid breaking, literally my led never breaks which helps me a lot when writing fast.

Good quality

I’m a student and I write a ton, this pencil is perfect. Others are saying the break resistant is faulty, but it doesn’t break nearly as much as the average mechanical pencil, and no matter what, why would you think $10 pencils would be that perfect? It has a nice look, comfortable to hold, the erasers work amazing, and is smooth to write with. The only con I have is there isn’t much lead that comes with them. If you need new mechanical pencils and can’t choose, pick these, they’re amazing for their price.

Great Pencils! I’ve used this type of pencil for 4 years. They work great and I love the twistable eraser. I do notice that they tend to crack and that the rubber on the grip tears off after a while. (Which makes it very uncomfortable to write with!) I replace them when this happens. They are super easy to figure out and are great for school!

These are the only pencils I have used since middle school. They are extremely durable & easy to grip, don’t break the lead, they hold a lot of lead and eraser, and the twist-up eraser is genius.To get refills for the eraser you can buy refills for eraser-pens and cut them into thirds—it’s way cheaper and less wasteful than buying the regular refills. They last forever.My one gripe is that I really wish they had more colors available. I would buy a green or blue one in a heartbeat.

This was my first time using Paper Mate mechanical pencils & these do not disappoint! These write so smoothly with very little pressure to paper. The design of the pencil makes it very comfortable to hold. The lead comes down nicely once pushed. Not once have these broken on me. For the price it’s nice you get 2 pencils with 6 lead replacements & 2 erasers. I’ve purchased additional leads from Amazon that are Paper Mate. These are truly the best I’ve ever used. These are well worth the cost. I highly recommend!
