Q: I cant get the pedals to work. Any suggestions?

This review helped me solve this issue. "After you pull it out of the box, you need to put the two pedals up and rest the unit standing on the front leg and top meter. Make sure you have the meter facing away from you. This will allow you access to the tension knob #11 located under the center bar. [Pull the pedals up so the tension rod is showing and] Adjust the cable fit around the wheel then tighten the knob. The cable may look a little loose around the wheel, but it will tighten when you place the unit flat on the floor and put the pedals down.To test if you did it correctly, one pedal will go up when you push the other down. If it is not working, put the unit back up on the front bar and make sure the cable is seated properly on the wheel."

Q: Can I use this if I am seated on a chair, or do I have to be standing?

I tried it - I guess it depends on height of the chair. Sitting in dining room I found it somewhat awkward but it is doable. If my chair was a little higher it might have been better

Q: What is the difference between this one and the other Sunny Twist Stepper?

Not sure the difference. I will say I really like my Sunny Twist Stepper. Its very convient. I leave it in my living room. It doesnt take up much space.

Q: Step on one foot rest, othe doesn't rise. Is machine set up wrong? newbie question...

Make sure the steel cable between the two is on the "track" and adjust the knob under the foot rests - it may need to be tighter, if too tight, you can hardly make it work. Took me a couple of tries to get it right - go to the "+" side first. Hope this helps.
