PL ZMPWLQ Cheese-Slicers with Stainless Steel Wire, 4 Replacement Wires, Accurate Size Scale, Soft Cheese Cutter

I almost did not buy this due to some of the reviews. Now I am so glad I did. This is not a knife, but a delicate cutting device that must be used correctly. I can cut Red Leichester Cheese from England, which is fragile and always breaks with my cheese knife, into slices 1/2 cm thick with no breakage. The key is to use the cutter with care and not to force the wire. It is a wire and not a blade. I also found it is easier to slice the cheese if you let it sit out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes to come to a softer consistency. If you force the wire or try to use it like a paper cutter, the wire will break If you are patient, it work perfectly.

I like using this slicer. Its simple to use and easy to clean. But the first time I used it the wire broke. Fortunately it comes with a half dozen more wires. I hope I won't have to use all of them.

I remember my parents having a cheese slicer similar to this one, except it was using a wooden base. I prefer one like this having stainless steel construction for sanitary reasons. A wire slicer like this model makes cutting chunk cheese a pleasure compared to using a knife. I have never used a knife that works as well as a wire for slicing cheese and it stays with the cheese, unlike having a knife for guests to use. The knife is typically taken away for use somewhere else and then there's nothing with which to cut cheese or it's returned dirty. It came with extras wires that looks easy to replace. Short answer is I'm pleased.

Worked fine for me until the wire broke. I watched the company's video on how to replace. Useless. Much to fast and not close-up enough, Read instructions on how to replace and thought, oh, OK, I can do this. However, in reality, after I got the wire connected to the underneath back part, it would not reach the handle part, even after loosening the handle part, so there was barely a single thread holding the nut to the handle, and the wire was still more than ¼” away from where the wire was to seat. I had the screws loosened to allow the handle to move, but it did not move anywhere enough. When it worked, it was great, when it failed, it was useless. I'd even pay to return it and have the company replace the wire and send it back to me. I hope the seller reads this and someone can tell me what I am doing wrong, or where to return it to them, so they can repair it.

I’ve had one like this for years & love it. My 4 year old grandson really likes to use it when helping me, so we got this for part of his Mother’s Day gift for his mom. Both my daughter and my son-in-law love it! So, easy to use, non- slip gripper feet, marked grid for accurate slice size, extra cutting wires, easy clean stainless steel. Who could ask for more? I highly recommend!

Wire broke on 2nd slice of refrigerated (not frozen at all) cheddar cheese. I was very surprised when the 2nd slice of cheddar cheese I had in the refrigerator snapped the wire instantly before it even got through the hunk of cheese. Once I left the cheese out to warm, cutting was flawless. I find it hard to adjust the moving bar, so it stays in place and slips in and out of the opening in the base without touching it. And last, I really like thin slices (1/16 in). I have not been able to cut slices this thin for more than a slice or two at a time. The device seems to be very sturdy, and it is very easy to clean. I will use this for snack platters, but I am not sure if it will do the job I bought it for (I will keep trying).

I've had a lot of slicers like this made with a wood or marble base. The Marble and other stone ones look nice bur crack and break soon after getting it. The wood ones loose tension quickly, harder to clean, because they are supposed to be hand washed, dishwashing strips any varnish and the wood cracks. This Stainless Steel Slicer remedies all these issues. I use this 3- 4 times a week, and it stll is on the same wire since October 2021. I don't post a lot of reviews but this one warrants it. If your on the fence about this, just get it.

Bought it to slice tofu. Doesn't do a great job for that, but it's not advertised for that so I can't complain. Otherwise appears to be a solid machine.
