Q: Does it come with clamps to keep plates on or is a separate purchase needed for this bar?

No you have to get those separately

Q: What is the weight of 6 foot bar?

The 6ft bar is about 35 lbs. I weighed it myself because it seemed light compared to my 45lb one.

Q: What is the tensile strength? Good for 16 year old who wants to bench/squat and use with landmine?

Just know it (6ft or shorter) bar does not fit with a weight rack or cage that most people use to bench press weights. But can be used with all other exercises.

Q: Is the collar smooth or ridged?

The collar is smooth. These are top quality bars. I have a 4ft, 5ft, and 7ft. Love them all. Great product!! Great price!!
