Where have you been all my life?
I am new to miso but I had to tell you about the intense experience that I had today. When I received my miso I opened it up right away knowing that I had to try it. I purchased the red miso and white miso from this company they're both fantastic. I opened the Miso and put some in some glass containers with color-coded lids to put in the refrigerator. After sealing both bags of miso with tape I put both of them into a Ziploc freezer bag and stuck them in the freezer. Then I boiled some water with my tea kettle I mixed a little of the red miso as well as the white miso with the water and taste it. I was amazed. I couldn't believe how rich the flavor is from this combination. But I thought to myself I can make this better. So I put a little garlic powder, a little onion powder and a little jalapeno powder and stirred. I am in heaven. This simple to make concoction has me coming back for more. I can't wait to cook with the Miso. Don't hesitate to by both. One has a slightly stronger flavor that will go well with dark gravy or tomato sauce maybe even Tex-Mex chili. And the other has a slightly nutty milky flavor. I love this stuff. Thanks for for making such a wonderful product and allowing me to share this with you.

Miso Happy
This is the first red miso paste I've ever bought, but I've used it to make miso soup several times now and it is always delicious. You get a lot in this bag so I squeezed it out into several smaller jars and refrigerated them so it will last longer. It makes a miso stock as yummy as what I get at restaurants, and I can add my own special ingredients. The price is good for how much you get too. Win win!~ Kort

Excellent Product
I have been buying this brand/product now for several years from this seller and have always been very happy with it. There is enough to squeeze into a quart mason jar and fill almost to the top. I cut the corner off the bag, squeeze as much as possible by hand and then take a small rolling pin and roll out the rest. Once I've gotten all I can I then slit the bag open and scrap out anything I missed. Works. I've bought both the red and the white for several years but recently I've stopped buying the red since in my opinion there's not enough difference in flavor to justify keeping both in my refrigerator. The red is a tiny bit stronger in flavor but to my unsophisticated pallet I'm happy with just the white. Gives me all the flavor I need in soups, dressings, etc. I have no idea how long this miso is suppose to last in the refrigerator since I use up a quart jar in about six months and it is always good to the last spoonful. Works for me and I'm happy happy with my purchase.

Finally got around to trying this, and actually love it, but it's rather salty
I purchased this a while ago and it sat in my fridge unopened until recently. I opened it and took a taste and man, I wish I had opened it sooner. A dab of it in some hot water with some tofu and seaweed and green onions and it makes a fine miso soup. Go sparingly on it though as it's rather salty. Unopened, it stayed fine in my fridge for several months without issue. Probably all the salt (salt is a preservative). Will buy again when I run out.

is not as tasty as some but love the non-gmo label
This prod. is not as tasty as some but love the non-gmo label. One just needs to use more of it for fuller flavor. I really like the Miso at Sprouts, also non-gmo but way more expensive. I am new to the miso market and still shopping for different kind of miso out there for a good value.
