I think this is a good knife storage block for the money. It's well made, nothing fancy but works well.

I got a new set of steak knives and wanted something to keep them in. This block is finished in a dark/walnut finish. The block is smooth. The slots for the knives are lined up evenly and of a consistent size .The measurements of the slots are in the product information. Compare the widths of your knives to the widths of the slots to make sure you're nice will fit. The depth of the block will handle most steak knives. Pads on the bottom of the block keep the block from sliding on the counter and protect it from scratches.This block would also be useful if you have a number of paring knives and smaller utility knives that you would like to keep within arms reach.
