Q: Is this able to fold back on itself so only the pad will show when you need to write?

No it does not. Do not listen to the people commenting Yes. I have this exact model and folding it back on itself would severely strain the material and probably break it. It is still when wide open with no give to go backwards. It is meant to be written in while open like a book.

Q: What is the difference between Pad-20 and Pad-30?

It appears the Pad-20 has a fabric-lined interior while the Pad-30 has a faux leather interior. Also, the Pad-30 appears to have an extra pocket for a steno book or papers while the Pad-20 does not. I drew the observations only from looking at the Amazon pictures.

Q: Will a Rocketbook wave fit into this? Want a low profile (thin), stylish 3 ring binder in which I can carry that, my notes, pens, etc.

I would think so. The pocket on the left expands well, and the 3 ring binder insert can be removed too.

Q: Is there a second slot for the pad on the BOTTOM of the right-hand side (so the folio can be flipped and used by lefties)?

Not in the PAD-40 model, no. Only the top and the side.
