Bromelain is a group of enzymes extracted from the stem of the pineapple plant and naturally contains sulfur. VitaMedica’s Bromelain with Quercetin is formulated with a high-potency Bromelain which can give off the odor of eggs due to the content of sulfur. We recommend leaving the bottle cap off for 20 to 30 minutes after opening and the smell should dissipate.

Expiration dates are specific to manufacturing lots. As of the date of this question (5/8/23) you likely would have either received lot # T21L019 with an exp date of 03/2024 or lot # T23A008 with an exp date of 02/2025. The lot # and exp date should be printed on each bottle for reference.
